Boo! ABC has confirmed to EW that this current season of Ugly Betty will be the last. They have also cut two episodes off their season run from 22 to 20. Totally sucks because this season has been really good and the cast is top notch at the slapstick-y type of comedy that they do and Liza just signed on! At least with this much notice the show will have time to put together a fitting send-off for the show. Producer Silvio Horta and ABC president Steve McPherson said in a joint statement, “We’ve mutually come to the difficult decision to make this Ugly Betty’s final season, and are announcing now as we want to allow the show ample time to write a satisfying conclusion. We are extremely proud of this groundbreaking series, and felt it was important to give the fans a proper farewell.” Ugly Betty will be sorely missed in my house and in NYC since they film here. Yes.
