VIDEO: LADY GAGA - BORN THIS WAY

CAUTION: THERE ARE SOME VERY GRAPHIC SCENES IN THIS VIDEO. It's not for the faint of heart. Seriously! Ha. Gaga has unveiled her new "baby", the video for her smash hit single Born This Way and it's a doozy. Most of it plays as a regular dance pop video. Boys and girls looking hot dancing with those new face projections Gaga is sporting for the new album, but the story that begins it, where Gaga gives birth to... well. Just watch. It's not my fave Gaga video of them all, but I do love a dramatic video, so I'm sold. Watch the weirdness that is Born This Way.

NEW VIDEO: KE$HA - BLOW

Hilarious!! James Van Der Beek joins the fun as Ke$ha plays a secret agent in a world where one can attend cocktail parties with unicorns. Definitely her best video to date and the song is catchy as hell, just like all her other hits. Watch the brand new video for Blow.

VOGUE DIARIES: DANIEL RADCLIFFE

ADORABLE!!! Daniel Radcliffe is not wasting his time before the premier of the last Harry Potter film. He is rehearsing for his starring role in the Broadway revival of How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying. The diminutive star will begin previews February 26th and open the show March 27th at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre. To promote the film famed photographer Annie Leibovitz photographed Dan Rad and some leggy dancer/models for a photoshoot and we get to see the making of that magic in this episode of Vogue Diaries. Watch and fall in love with Daniel all over again. Yay!!

PREVIEW OF THREE NEW BRITNEY SPEARS SONGS

Here are some just-released snippets of what's to come on the new Britney Spears album Femme Fatale. The songs have been sneaking out in the same manner the (DOA & disappointing) video for Hold It Against Me did, little-by-little. Don't get TOO excited. These are literally the tiniest of snippets, so you can't tell too much besides tone. I'm hoping the album is as good as Blackout and Circus both were. I miss Ms. Britney. The first is supposed to be the next single called How I Roll. You can't tell much from the tiny bit, but you can get a feel for what to expect.
HOW I ROLL TEASER by drluke

Here is a track called Inside Out. Sounds like it might be a ballad of sorts. Kinda nice, but again, not much to go on here.
Brit Teaser.... :-) by drluke

The third and final so far is what most were thinking was going to be the next single, but it ain't! Here's I Wanna Go. Sounds like a dancey little number.

ANDERSON COOPER URGES CHRISTINE O'DONNELL TO JOIN DANCING WITH THE STARS

HILARIOUS!!! I love when Anderson Cooper does his "RidicuLIST"! Here is our sexy Silver Fox responding to idiotic bigot "politician" and former witch Christine O'Donnell's post on her facebook about getting an offer to join the cast of Dancing with the Stars. He says she should absolutely do it and lays out some pretty good reasons why!! I love that he references Waiting for Guffman. Watch it and laugh. Also, I don't think I've ever seen Anderson so excited about something. Cute. He is kinda queening out!!! Ha. I want him.

HILARIOUS RED-BAND TRAILER FOR BAD TEACHER

OMG!!! I love this movie and it hasn't even come out. Looks like Cameron Diaz has a huge hit on her hands with Bad Teacher, a story about a ... well .. bad teacher who is looking for a rich man to take care of her. Phyllis from The Office looks like she might steal some thunder from Justin Timberlake on this one!!!! Go, Phyllis!!! Can't wait!!!!! OH, the picture to the side is a scene from the movie for all you heteros (all three of you who read my blog). Enjoy the show!

WATCH THE AWESOME TRAILER FOR SUCKER PUNCH

I love action flicks with action chicks!! Watch the amazy trailer/music video for Sucker Punch!! Out March 25th.

LADY GAGA'S BILLBOARD INTERVIEW: A SUMMARY

Lady Gaga is on the cover of Billboard magazine and gives an interesting interview in their pages. She covers many subjects in the interview, including:

Her appearance at the Grammys:"My bones have changed in my face and shoulders. I am now able to reveal to the universe that when I was wearing jackets that looked like I was wearing shoulder pads, it was really just my bones underneath."

On the success of Born This Way: "I can't believe it. I'm humbled, honored and overwhelmed at the reception to "Born This Way." This has been so life-changing for me. Between Billboard and the international No. 1s, and the radio numbers... I couldn't be more blessed to have the fans I have." She adds: "..to be the 1,000th No. 1 on Billboard... I would be silly not to say this is the greatest honor of my career... To have sold so many singles so quickly and to be a message--not a song about a nightclub, not a song about sex--a message about love and positivity?"

On the political themes of her new music: "I wanted to put my money exactly where my mouth is. The Little Monsters all over the world as well as the gay community have been tremendously supportive over the years and I have in turn been supportive." She goes on: "This is my chance to create something that is not only supportive of my political and social beliefs--not just for the gay community, but for everyone... This is also my chance to artistically say, 'I'm not being safe with this record.' I'm not trying to gain new fans. I love the fans I already have, and this is for them."

On her Grammy performance: "The Grammy performance was about many things but ultimately the song "Born This Way" . . . is visually and thematically and lyrically about birthing a new race, birthing a race within the race of already existing cultures of humanity--that bears no prejudice and no judgment."

On the Madonna "controversy": "Everyone knows how much I love and adore Madonna..." "I don't think there is a female on the planet that is not inspired by Madonna... on so many levels. I was honored to hear from her--I've met her in the past and worked with her and... she was so supportive and loving and... I think what people are hearing, to be precise, is the spirit of the early '90s. It's not just Madonna, it's Whitney Houston, it's En Vogue, it's TLC. It was a '90s-dance-early-gospel-fusion-with-pop-music, and that's precisely what I intended for it to sound like."

SARAH PALIN HAS FAKE FACEBOOK ACCOUNT TO PRAISE HERSELF

Sarah Palin is a bigger loser than we already knew. Apparently a leaked unpublished manuscript of a book by Frank Bailey, one of Palin’s former aides from her time as governor includes Palin’s personal gmail address. When the blog Wonkette ran a Facebook search on that address, the name “Lou Sarah”. Well, Sarah's middle name is Louise. Turns out, aside from being linked to Sarah's personal email address, "Lou" is also friends with some of Palin's "political appointees." The entire page was praising Palin and her fat, stupid, boring daughter Bristol. Coincidence? I think not. Palin put out a statement on her twitter and facebook accounts saying:
"There’s always buzz about fake Sarah Palin Facebook and Twitter accounts. Please know that this is my only authentic Facebook account and SarahPalinUSA is my only authentic Twitter account."
Thou doth protest too much, Sarah. Also, don't you like how she uses the word "authentic" before facebook and twitter. You wouldn't call your fake account "authentic". I wonder who was smart enough to tell the illiterate, inbred devil to say "authentic" and how to spell it? Oh, who am I kidding. She couldn't have typed all those words herself.

KATY PERRY COVERS RIHANNA &... WILLOW SMITH! LIVE!

Katy Perry is on her California Dreams Tour and it looks like she's slipped in a couple of covers. Here's Perry, sounding damn good by the way, covering her friend Rihanna's Only Girl (In The World) (wishing her a happy birthday) and Willow Smith's Whip My Hair (with kitschy, fake flute playing...hilarious!). Katy, of course, has had enough hits of her own, but it's fun to see her covering other artists in such a cute way, acoustic and all.. Enjoy Katy's little set. I kinda wanna see this tour now!

ROLLING STONE PREVIEWS SONGS FROM LADY GAGA'S UPCOMING ALBUM

Some lucky bastard from Rolling Stone got to preview songs from Lady Gaga's soon-to-be-smash album Born This Way. Already a chart-busting hit, the title track doesn't appear to be the only sure-fire winner on the album. Here's what Matthew Perpetua from RS had to say:

"Judas" - Currently scheduled as the second single from the album, "Judas" is a classic Lady Gaga pop banger with three huge hooks, a thumping house music breakdown and a vocal part that borrows a bit of Rihanna's distinctive cadence. Gaga has written about falling for the wrong guy before in "LoveGame" and "Bad Romance," but this time around she's a bit less dark and dramatic. There's a bubbly sweetness in her voice as she sings "I'm just a holy fool / baby it's so cool / I'm still in love with Judas, baby."

"Edge of Glory" - This one sounds crazy in print -- it's a massive power ballad with heavy club beats that features Clarence Clemons of the E Street Band wailing on his saxophone (Clemons also plays on "Hair") -- but somehow it all seems totally natural when you actually hear it. There's an element of cheesiness to it, but it's totally captivating and incredibly catchy. If any of these new Gaga tunes demands to be a big fat hit, this is it. The inclusion of Clemons is an inspired touch that amplifies the song's Eighties stadium rock vibe, but his actual performance is amazing and ranks among the best of his career.

"Scheiße" - A remixed version of this number was used in a recent runway show by fashion designer Thierry Mugler. The album version doesn't have the same hardcore European house flavor, but it's definitely the tune most likely to bring back memories of early-Nineties dance crossover hits by C&C Music Factory, Snap and RuPaul. The opening of the song -- in which she flatly intones "I don't speak German, but I can if you like" -- is fierce, but the song is saved from being a slight novelty by a soaring chorus that vaguely recalls Survivor's "Eye of the Tiger."

"Hair" - "Hair" is another inspirational song in the mold of "Born This Way," but it's a bit weirder, mixing the yearning romantic melodrama of Pat Benetar's "We Belong" with the hard industrial metal edge of Broken-era Nine Inch Nails. The lyrics are essentially about embracing one's hairstyle as the ultimate expression of their identity, climaxing with Gaga triumphantly declaring "I am my hair!" in its huge sing along chorus. An anthem for hair salons everywhere.

"You and I" - Gaga didn't share the studio version of this theatrical rock ballad, but she did perform it in her concert later in the evening. This one has been part of her Monster Ball setlist for months now, and at this point it's already a crowd-pleasing showstopper. Assuming that the album recording will have more or less the same piano-centric arrangement, "You and I" will provide a necessary break from the high energy beats on the other tracks.
Sounds like we got another "monster" on our hands. Born This Way, the album, is due for release May 23rd. In the meantime, here is Gaga performing Born This Way, the single, on tour in Atlantic City this weekend. Yay!

80'S MUSIC VIDEO WEEKEND: OPEN YOUR HEART

Our weekend must come to a close, and who better to close it out than the woman who owned the 80's. Madonna!! Here is one of her best of the period, Open Your Heart. Was there really any doubt who I would close with though? No. Hope you enjoyed the 80's flashback. I know I did.

80'S MUSIC VIDEO WEEKEND: IF I COULD TURN BACK TIME

Cher is no stranger to scandal, and the video for her mega-hit If I Could Turn Back Time was one of the biggest. Cher's outfit was so skimpy they could only air the video after 10 pm on MTV. Her ass was showing, y'all! Anyway, here is the legend herself singing one of the signature hits.

80'S MUSIC VIDEO WEEKEND: LOVE IS A BATTLEFIELD

Pat Benatar turns in an 80's classic with the video for Love Is A Battlefield. Many baled at the rockers inclusion of dance and the high-gloss video, but I think the product speaks for itself. Enjoy the 80's standard Love Is A Battlefield.

80'S MUSIC VIDEO WEEKEND: COLD HEARTED

Possibly the best non-Madonna 80's video, Paula Abdul really outdid herself with Cold Hearted, an ode to Bob Fosse.

80'S MUSIC VIDEO WEEKEND: HERE I GO AGAIN

Whitesnake hit it HUGE with the song and video for Here I Go Again, featuring the ultimate video vixen Tawny Kitaen. This girl works that car like nobody's business. Happy Sunday!

80'S MUSIC VIDEO WEEKEND: LOOKING FOR A NEW LOVE

Aww yeah!! Jody Watley was giving Janet a run for her money back in the 80's and this was her debut single that kicked it off. Jody Watley gives us Looking for a New Love. She also gives Arnold Schwarzenegger a catchphrase with "Hasta la vista, baby".

80'S MUSIC VIDEO WEEKEND: DON'T YOU WANT ME

The Human Leage's video for the classic 80's song Don't You Want Me was one of the very first "story" videos, and it's AMAZY!!!! Definitely set a standard for all music videos that followed. Slick, dark and glossy, it WAS the 80's.

80'S MUSIC VIDEO WEEKEND: FATHER FIGURE

One of the all-time sexiest songs and one of my all-time faves. Back when George Michael was the hottest thing on the planet, here's Father Figure.

80'S MUSIC VIDEO WEEKEND: THE PLEASURE PRINCIPLE

Here's Janet Jackson's amazingly 80's choreographed video for The Pleasure Principle.

80'S MUSIC VIDEO WEEKEND: SWEET DREAMS (ARE MADE OF THIS)

It's time for a weekend of nostalgia and hairspray. Here's is 80's Music Video Weekend. I'm starting off with the first video I ever saw, The Eurythmics' Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This).

BETH DITTO PAYS TRIBUT TO MADONNA'S JUSTIFY MY LOVE

Beth Ditto, the zaftig diva, has decided to pay homage to Madonna by channelling her video for Justify My Love with the video for her rockin' new single I Wrote the Book. Granted, Beth doesn't cut as svelte a figure as Madge (or anyone else for that matter) but she works it out in this clip. The song is kick-ass too! Beth is not afraid of being a big girl, and it shows as she exudes confidence and sexiness with the lean, muscly boys surrounding her. There is one part where she looks like an Elizabeth Taylor impersonator in a fright wig, but other than that, she is lookin' good. Go girl! I miss from the JML video Tony Ward though.

THE #1 SONG 25 YEARS AGO WAS......

..How Will I Know by Whitney Houston Love this song. The video shows a Whitney I miss dearly. Happy, full of energy, 80s hair and pretty as a picture. And that VOICE!!! The song was released in November 1985, but made it to #1 on February 15, 1985. Remember when songs actually climbed the charts and stayed on them for a while? ha. Anyway, the song was the second #1 song for Whitney in a streak of SEVEN! (Saving All My Love For You, How Will I Know, Greatest Love of All, I Wanna Dance With Somebody, Didn't We Almost Have It All, So Emotional, Where Do Broken Hearts Go) Whew! Whitney had it goin' on, y'all!! Anyway, check out the dayglo video and sweet sounds of Whitney Houston's How Will I Know.

NEW VIDEO: BRITNEY SPEARS - HOLD IT AGAINST ME

Okay. First of all, I love Britney. I am rooting for her. I remember the Britney that always gave 100% at everything she did. Her last album, Circus, was a really great pop album, but it seemed she had lost the will to perform. Now comes Hold It Against Me. I am not crazy about the song, but her first singles are not always my fave from her albums, so that doesn't disturb me, but this video is a BIG OL' MESS!! It's edited like the audience can't pay attention to anything for more than three seconds (maybe we can't). Where is all the dancing we were promised? There is no dancing to speak of at all! Remember Slave 4 U, Stronger, Overprotected? Britney can dance like a beyotch! Where was it? Britney's face and body look great, so why did they stretch the screen, a la Paula Abdul's fat days, and put wigs on her that look like they came out of a 1970s country music television special? Also, the paint shooting out of the hands was a great idea, but you never see her face while it's actually happening. BODY DOUBLE!! Then there's a vacant look in her eye. I don't blame Britney totally for this fiasco, but her people need to pull it together. Even her choreographer, Brian Friedman, said on his twitter "Britney Fans... I DIDN'T edit or direct the video so please do not place hostility at me if you aren't happy with what you have seen or see. ...Britney worked her ass off for this video and she and I hope that you all love it." Sounds like a preemptive "sorry" to me. Oh, well. Watch for yourself and decide. I say no.

LITTLE GIRL DOES AMAZING COVER OF BORN THIS WAY

This little girl's name is Maria and Gaga herself has raved about this version of her new single Born This Way. I don't know any info on her, but I'm sure we'll be hearing a lot more about her in the near future. She simply states under the video "This is a cover of Lady GaGa's new song "Born This Way." I hope you enjoy! Lots of Love, Maria" then she plays a stripped down version of the song and sing her little booty off while doing it. Adorable!!! Gaga posted the video on facebook saying, "Can't stop crying watching this. This is why I make music. She is the future." Watch!

GLEE BREAKS ELVIS' HOT 100 RECORD

It's official, the Gleeks are taking over the world! The Cast of Glee has officially broken the record for the most Hot 100 entries by an act. Previously the record was held by Elvis Presley, the King of Rock and Roll, at 108 entries. So clearly that has been in place for a while. Well as of this week, with SIX new songs debuting on the chart, the Glee kids have rung up 113 songs on the Billboard chart in just TWO-AND-A-HALF YEARS!! What?? Yes, you read right. This week alone they debut Firework(No. 34), Silly Love Songs(No. 45), When I Get You Alone (No. 47), Fat Bottomed Girls (No. 56), P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing) (No. 58) and She's Not There (No. 87). Nice work, kids! Gleeks rejoice, you ARE the music biz right now. Well, you and Gaga. Watch Glee Tuesday nights at 8 PM on Fox. BORN THIS WAY BECOMES BILLBOARD'S 1,000TH #1 SINGLE

DUH!! Of course the GIGANTIC response to Lady Gaga's amazy new single Born This Way has all culminated in her debuting at the #1 position this week on the Billboard Hot 100. In addition, BTW starts at No. 6 on the Radio Airplay chart with an audience of 78.5 million, the highest bow and largest opening airplay figure for a song since the tally began incorporating all radio formats in December 1998. Born This Way likewise breaks barriers with the largest debut sum for a female artist, with opening-week digital sales of 448,000, beating the previous record set by Britney Spears four weeks ago with Hold It Against Me which clocked 411,000 sales. This is all after only five days of radio play and three days of digital availability. Is there nothing Gaga can't achieve? I think not. Gaga for president!!!

KATY PERRY'S REMIX OF NEW SINGLE, E.T. WITH KANYE WEST

Every time I get on board with Kanye he turns around and does something super douchey, so I say with hesitation that I am loving the remix of Katy Perry's E.T. ft. Kanye West.

"Imma disrobe you then Imma probe you." HILARIOUS!!!! The song also has some extra instumentalization. (is that a word?) Instrumentation. That's it. Anyhoo..... The picture to the side is a sneak preview of the video. Fun! Anyway, check it out. Do you like the new song? It's pretty different for Perry, huh?

BRIT AWARD WINNERS ANNOUNCED

The annual Brit Awards, honoring the best in British music were handed out this week and the winners are a veritable Who's That? of the American music scene. Isn't it weird that two English speaking countries have so many artists that the other doesn't know about? Anyway, I ADORE British pop music, so I always follow it and get all I can. So even though she wasn't one of the award winners, Adele gave an amazing performance and I had to include it below. Check her out!!! She is poised for another huge follow up in the US with her second album titled 21 (her age) which is the follow up to 19. See the pattern. Here is a list of winners and Adele's performance.

JUST BECAUSE: CYNDI LAUPER AT THE GRAMMYS

Although Cyndi Lauper did not win a Grammy this year (she was nominated for Best Traditional Blues Album for the excellent Memphis Blues)she rocked the red carpet. The 57-year-old singer showed up in true Lauper fashion, rocking a sexy black leather number and her trademark wild hair. Cyndi looks great!!! She has been changing and evolving since she first hit the scene in the early 80s and there is no sign of her slowing down. In December 2010, Memphis Blues is ranked Billboard's #1 Blues Album of The Year. Of course, Cyndi has won a Grammy. She received her statue for Best New Artist in 1985 and has been nominated an additional 12 times.

GAGA'S MONSTER BALL COMING TO HBO

WOOHOO!! I saw Lady Gaga's Monster Ball at Madison Square Garden and now you will all see it as HBO is bringing it to television!!! Yay! MADONNA LIKES BORN THIS WAY, SO SUCK IT!!

Lady Gaga appeared on The Tonight Show and addressed the "contoversy" surrounding the opinion of those who think Born This Way sounds too much like Express Yourself. (ps.. you're wrong) Gaga talks about her undying love for Madonna and how Madge's people contacted her. Watch! If it's good enough for Madonna, it's good enough for me. Here's what Gaga had to say in part:
"There is really no one that is a more adoring and loving Madonna fan than me. I am the hugest fan, personally and professionally. And... Well, the good news is, I got an e-mail from her people and her sending me their love and complete support on behalf of the single. And if the queen says it shall be, then it shall be."

So there. Also, all you fellow gays out there: If you can't get on board with Born This Way at least acknowledge that Gaga wrote a f*cking song for you. SHOW SOME RESPECT!!! Here's her interview.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SHERYL CROW!

Singer, songwriter Sheryl Crow is 49 today!!! Looking as fabulous as ever, maybe even more, Sheryl has been making music for a long time now. I love Sheryl, especially hits like Home, Perfect Mistake and Strong Enough. Since her US chart debut in 1993 with Tuesday Night Music Club, Sheryl has won nine Grammys, sold 35 million albums world wide, had 8 top ten albums in the US, and sand with everyone from Kid Rock to Loretta Lynn. Sheryl overcame cancer back in 2006, adopted a baby boy in 2007, and has written some of her most emotional songs since then. Here are some of my fave Crow songs. Enjoy them and celebrate life with Sheryl Crow. Happy Birthday!!!!

LETTER FROM THE BLOGGER: BORN THIS WAY IS NOT EXPRESS YOURSELF

I can't believe how many people are saying Born This Way by Lady Gaga sounds like or resembles Express Yourself by Madonna. I have undoubtedly listened to Express Yourself a billion-and-a-half times (definitely more than you) since it's release in 1989. It's been a personal source of inspiration at almost every important moment in my life (gay enough for ya?). I live for that song. All over the Internet people are calling Born This Way (which I'm listening to on repeat all day at work) a ripoff of EY, and I don't get it. It doesn't sound ANYTHING like Express Yourself. Is it the subject matter and tone? Is it the hard driving beat? Or is it just people waiting for Gaga not to hit a home run again? I don't know, but I can count myself among Madonna experts and I am sure no one has put in as many hours lip syncing to EY as I have, so I am here to tell you that these songs only share one thing in common: THEY ARE AWESOME. Get over it and enjoy two super fantastic songs. That being said, I would love a great mashup!!!!!!!!!!! Love ya!!

LISTEN TO LADY GAGA'S BORN THIS WAY NOW!!!

UNRELEASED MADONNA DEMO: ANIMAL

Originally recored for her Hard Candy album, Madonna and Timbaland wrote and recorded the song Animal. Why it was not included, I do not know. It's a pretty freakin' awesome song I think. It could have even been a single IMHO. Check it out for yourself and tell me whatcha' think. Sounds like Hard Candy was going to be a much darker album at one point, huh? "Go on and let yourself go 'cos there's no time to think. Now I'm in control of your animal instinct. If you want, I'll treat you like an animal. If you want, I'll feed you like an animal."

LADY GAGA GRACES THE COVER AND PAGES OF VOGUE

Lady Gaga is about to take over the world...AGAIN. She is appearing on the cover, in a pink wig and bleached eyebrows, and in the pages of Vogue this month, posing for stunning photos and giving a revealing interview. There are outrageous quotes galore in the piece, but I'll just give you a couple of highlights here. Check it. Gaga talks about herself as a performer:
"Speaking purely from a musical standpoint, I think I am a great performer. I am a talented entertainer. I consider myself to have one of the greatest voices in the industry. I consider myself to be one of the greatest songwriters. I wouldn’t say that I am one of the greatest dancers, but I am really quite good at what I do.... think it’s OK to be confident in yourself."
Now, a lot of haters are going to call her arrogant or whatever, but I take this as being absolutely confident in her abilities. That is the attitude you have to possess to get to the point in your career that she has achieved. She's a bad ass bitch!! SO DON'T HATE!
On her soon-t0-be-released single Born This Way, which Elton John calls the gayest song he's ever heard, she tells Vogue:
"I wrote it in ten fucking minutes, and it is a completely magical message song. And after I wrote it, the gates just opened, and the songs kept coming. It was like an immaculate conception."
I love Gaga's little quotes. She knows how to work the press like nobody's business. Anyway, you can read the entire Vogue interview HERE. She talks about several other songs that will appear on the new album and how she wrote them. It's definitely worth a read whether you like Gaga or not. By the way, just so we're clear, if you don't like Gaga, you're a loser. That's all I have to say about that. The single Born This Way comes out Friday and the album is due May 23rd.

GOV. ANDREW CUOMO VOWS TO PUSH MARRIAGE EQUALITY IN NEW YORK STATE

Newly elected governor, and personal hero, Andrew Cuomo has promised to get a vote on marriage equality this session in New York. "We’ll be working very hard to pass it,” said Cuomo during an appearance of Hofstra University, according to the New York Times. My vote was squarely for Cuomo at election time as he has always stated that LGBT issues were a high priority for him. Though Dean G. Skelos, the Senate's Republican majority leader, remains opposed to gay marriage in NYS, one of his aides said he will not stop a vote. Oh, how nice of him. Blech! I guess we are getting closer and closer to becoming a free world after all! Yay, Cuomo!!!

JENNIFER ANISTON GETS DISSED BY ZACH GALIFIANAKIS

Not really!!!! Jennifer Aniston is the bomb!!! What a great sport to do something with a tramp like Tila Tequila just for the sake of funny! Jen sat down with Zach Galifianakis on his fake "Between Two Ferns" talk show to promote Just Go With It (out Friday) and Zach...well, just watch. It's pretty damn funny. Go Jennifer. I love you.

FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION: MS. BLACK SWAN

OMG! HILARIOUS!! Ms. Swan was my favorite character from MadTv. The crazy lady played by Alex Borstein, now from Family Gay, was the only reason I ever watched the show. Her line "He look-a like a man" was all I said for six months when someone asked me what the guy I hooked up with last night looked like. Not that I had one night stands. I'm a virgin. I digress. Anyway, here is Alex in full Swan drag doing her version of Black Swan. It's Oscar worthy on it's own. Check it.

TODAY IN HISTORY: BEATLES ON THE ED SULLIVAN SHOW

February 9, 1964- The Beatles gave their first live US television performance on The Ed Sullivan Show, watched by approximately 74 million viewers—over 40 percent of the American population. Of course, they went on to sell over 200 million records in the United States alone and it's estimated anywhere between 600 million and 1 billion the world over, more than any other musical act ever. Wow. I guess Ed really had the scoop. The Beatles are still a force in the music industry some 46 years after that appearance, and 31 years after they broke up!! The recent release of their catalogue on iTunes has resulted in 5 million song downloads and over a million album downloads according to Apple. That's pretty amazing for a band that's been inactive for over 30 years...OR ANYONE!! So, in case you have never seen it, below is the original appearance on the Ed Sullivan show of arguably the greatest band of all time, The Beatles. Check it out!!!

NICKI MINAJ HITS #1 IN 11TH WEEK WITH PINK FRIDAY

Better late than never!! It's taken our lady Nicki Minaj 11 weeks, but her debut album Pink Friday has hit the top of the Billboard 200. The album was released in November and debuted at #2, remaining in the top 10 for it's entire run so far. Now, thanks in part to SNL and Nicki being awesome, Pink Friday is the #1 album in the country. I'm so glad!!! I love this album. It's really smart and funny and lyrically genius. Go Nicki! This is the first time a female rapper has hit #1 since Foxy Brown's Chyna Doll took the top stop on February 13, 1999. Nicki is the bomb!

Gaga released the artwork for her Born This Way single on her twitter page. NOTICE THE CHEEKS AND SHOULDERS! Something cool is coming!! It looks like something is going to pop out of her skin. FUN!! Can't wait for all the new Gaga amaziness!! Born this way premiers Friday and Gaga is performing it for the first time on the Grammy telecast Sunday night. Woohoo!!!

NEW STEVIE NICKS ON ITUNES: SECRET LOVE

WOOHOO!!! Rock goddess Stevie Nicks has released her new single on iTunes and her website (listed on the photo). The track, called Secret Love, has that familiar Stevie touch to it, but moves her sound forward to now-ness. Some of that help comes from Dave Stewart of Eurythmics fame. He is producing Stevie's new album, In Your Dreams, which is due out May 3rd!! I love Stevie and it's so great to hear her in great form on such a great song. Can't wait for the album. Secret Love is Stevie's first new music in 10 years. Her last album was the stupendous Trouble in Shangri-La. Why would she leave me for so long???

LISTEN TO LEA MICHELE'S VERSION OF "FIREWORK"

Lea Michele is my jam this week!!! She WAS the Super Bowl for me and now we hear her version of Firework that will be on the Valentine's Day episode of Glee. It's quite similar to the original, but there's no doubt Lea has a better voice than Katy Perry. I mean, c'mon!! It's all right. I love Katy too. Anyhoo, here is Lea's excellent version of Firework. Also, I put the photo from Cosmo that everyone is freaking out about on this post. I think it's beautiful and SHE'S FREAKIN' 24-YEARS-OLD!!! Get a life you bored, lazy, fat old ladies who think your kids have never seen cleavage before.

CLASSIC MADONNA CONCERTS FINALLY COMING TO DVD

UPDATE: MADONNA'S MANAGER HAS STATED THIS IS NOT HAPPENING VIA TWITTER. SAD FACE!!!!

This is AMAZING NEWS!!!! Madonna's long sought after Blond Ambition tour is finally getting a DVD release, according to the very good sources at Madonna Tribe. Blond Ambition, arguably the greatest rock concert of all time, has never been released on DVD, only on Laser Disc in the US, so fans are going to have multiple orgasms over this news. Also to be released soon is the first FULL recording of Madonna very first tour, The Virgin Tour. Now I have an old VHS copy of the tour, but certain songs were not included, like Angel, Borderline and Burning Up. This remastered version of the show will include all of the hits. Yay!! Also, a remastered recording of The Girlie Show is coming. Hot damn!! Madonna Tribe states:

"These are new releases Warner had been working on since a while, and time has finally come to hit the stores."

I have been waiting for years to get Blond Ambition on DVD. It's literally a master work of art IMHO. The sets, the lighting, the set list, the choreography; it totally changed the way that artists approached live performances and set the bar so high that hardly anyone has surpassed it to this day. Even Madonna, in my view, didn't equal it until The Confessions Tour. The Virgin Tour is also really great because it shows a legend in the making, figuring out her stage persona and showing a vulnerability that we don't get to see in our Madge very often these days. Anyway, no official release date yet, but you can bet I'll be watching for it.

PERSONAL NOTE: I'M ENGAGED!!

My man, Ben, asked me to marry him this weekend. We were at the HRC gala here in NYC and he asked me. It went something like this:

Ben: You know, I think we're past calling eachother boyfriends and just because we can't get married in New York now, it doesn't mean we shouldn't be engaged and let people know that what our intentions are and where we are in our relationship.

Me: Yeeeessss.......

Ben: So, will you marry me?

Me: Are you serious?

Ben: Yes.

Me: Then yes.

So there you have it. We are engaged. The best part? New jewelry! ha. We picked up our rings at Tiffany's yesterday. They are called "knife edge". Love it. Okay, that's my personal note for the day.

THE CHURCH LADY TINGLES FOR JUSTIN BIEBER ON SNL

It was the triumphant return of The Church Lady on SNL this weekend. Dana Carvey hosted and brought back one of his most memorable characters to slaughter some of today's most abhorant "stars" like Snookie and the Kardashians. Hilarious!! But when the real Beiber comes on stage, The Church Lady gets a little hot and bothered. So funny. Good sport, Justin Bieber. I have to say, Dana Carvey did a really great job hosting, also bringing back Mike Myers for a Wayne's World skit. Good to see the guy still has it after all these years. Maybe they should bring back past SNL stars to host more often. CHERI OTERI!!!!!!!!!!!

LEA MICHELE RULES THE SUPER BOWL

WOW! Lea Michele DID turn in a stellar performance at the Super Bowl (sorry Xtina). Here is our gal from Glee singing America the Beautiful, well, beautifully. Not only did Lea sing before the game, Glee's Chevrolet commercial was outstanding (also see it below) and Lea was the star of that spot as well. Go Lea!! AND Glee, of course, ran a new episode directly following the game jam packed with excitement. What a night for Lea...oh, and the Packers or Snackers or Crackers or whoever won. Enjoy the music.

CHRISTINA AGUILERA DOESN'T HELP HERSELF OUT AT THE SUPER BOWL

It's been a tough year for our Christina. Her album, Bionic, was not a hit (to put it nicely) and while I thoroughly enjoyed Burlesque, most didn't. Now this. At the Super Bowl this weekend (congrats Packers and their fans and all that made $$ off of it) Christina had a chance to redeem herself by killing the national anthem. She killed it in a bad way though. Instead of singing "o'er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming" she sang "what so proudly we watched at the twilight's last reaming". GIRL! A reamer is a metalworking tool used to create an accurate sized hole. Ha. Now that being said, Christina sounded pretty good I thought, so it wasn't ALL bad. C'mon, Xtina. Pull it together and wow us soon. You still got it and I still love ya.

NEW NICKI MINAJ VIDEO: MOMENT 4 LIFE

"Once Upon a time there lived a king named Nicki..." Love, love, loving Ms. Minaj these days. Here is the video for her latest single Moment 4 Life (ft. Drake). First of all, I really like the mellow vibe on this song. The video starts out with some pretty darn good acting by Nicki as herself AND her fairy godmother. Funny stuff. Drake is looking darn pretty cute too. Anyhoo, enjoy it and pass it along. Nicki is the new Queen of Rap.

FAITH HILL AND CHRISSIE HYNDE JOIN FOCES FOR CROSSROADS ON SUPER BOWL WEEKEND

This could be really good!! Country music superstar Faith Hill and legendary rock goddess Chrissie Hynde of the Pretenders are joining forces on Super Bowl weekend for CMT's Crossroads series. The show brings together two artists from different genres and has them perform the music of the other. CMT Crossroads: The Pretenders & Faith Hill Live From the Pepsi Super Bowl Fan Jam (that's quite a title) will take place at 10 p.m. ET on Saturday, Super Bowl XLV eve, at the Verizon Theatre in Grand Prairie, Texas. Hill tells Billboard.com:
"It's going to be chaotic and it's live and that's going to bring an element of true excitement to the show. We'll see. We're just gonna have fun."
Chrissie Hynde adds:

"I come from a rock mentality, so I like a bit of chaos. It's a gig, y'know? If someone asks me to sing or play, that's what I do. It's just a show. It's just eight songs. What do you have to know? We'll figure it out."

Awesome!! I'm gonna DVR this for sure! Yes, DVR. I have a life, ya know. Here are a couple of A+ songs from both artists for you enjoy.

AND THE #1 SONG THIS WEEK IN ______ WAS.....

Here is a look back at the #1 songs this week from years gone by. Enjoy some oldies but goodies (or baddies if you don't agree). These are pretty good examples of how a #1 song is done, IMHO, not to mention they are all perfect time capsules of when they came out. It's as fun to listen to them today as it was when I was a kid...er...I mean as it was WAY before I was born. Have fun and enjoy the day, bitches.

1981 The Tide is High by Blondie

1985 I Wanna Know What Love Is by Foreigner

1995 Creep by TLC
