NEW VIDEO: BJORK - CRYSTALLINE

Bjork has released the video for her first single off the forthcoming Biophilia album, Crystalline. It has everything you want in a Bjork video: Michael Gondry directed stunning imagery, animation, and Bjork doing a crazy-ass dance at the end. Love me some crazy Bjork. Anyhoo, I really love the song and the video is artful and imaginative. Good times.

JUST BECAUSE: KATY PERRY AT THE NYC PREMIERE OF THE SMURFS

AMAZING!! How great does she look? Love the blond hair (Katy is a natural blond, believe it or not). Here is the Teenage Dream herself at the NYC premiere of The Smurfs in which she voices Smurfette. Seems like the logical choice, no? Lookin' good girl. See more photos of Katy and the other stars HERE. The film is officially released this Friday.

JUST BECAUSE: BRIAN WILSON IN SPANDEX TUXEDO

Well here it is!! My fave baller, in every sense of the word, SF Giants' Brian Wilson in his already infamous spandex tuxedo at the ESPYs. How cute is he??? Really, only this guy can pull this off. Too bad he covered up the goods all night. Ha. Who cares, he's even hot in this getup. Let's go on a date, Brian.

ROLLING STONE READERS POLL CONFIRMS: MADONNA IS THE QUEEN OF POP

Lady Gaga may be the current lady in waiting, but Madonna is now and forever the Queen of Pop. Rolling Stones reader poll put Madge at the #1 position by a large margin. Here's what they had to say about her. List below:
"1. Madonna - To say that Madonna won this poll in a landslide would be like saying that she was a kind of popular pop singer in the 1980s. It wouldn't even begin to explain the scope of the situation. She received five times as many votes as Lady Gaga, who landed in second place by a very comfortable margin. The only persistent criticism that Gaga has dealt with in recent years is that she's too much like Madonna. It's a hard shadow to escape. Madonna is a musical icon without peer. Her run of hits over the past 30 years is simply astounding, and when she hits the road, tickets sell like it's a Led Zeppelin reunion tour. Sure, her last few albums didn't match up to the classics. Nobody cares. She's Madonna. Lady Gaga has accomplished more in recent years than any artist of her era, but she's still got a long climb until she reaches Madonna level. It's very likely that no other artist will ever reach it though. Her manager Guy Oseary recently tweeted that she's started recording her 12th studio album, so clearly she has no intention of slowing down anytime soon."

Well said.

10. Mariah Carey
9. Elton John
8. Cher
7. Katy Perry
6. Aretha Franklin
5. Beyonce
4. Tina Turner
3. Britney Spears
2. Lady Gaga
1. Madonna

Actress and all around crazy looking person Shelley Duvall is 62 today! Happy birthday, girl! No one but no one can do weird looking better than Shelley. Am I right or am I right? Though the pic I included in this post is quite lovely I must say. To celebrate watch this genius clip put together on youtube of Shelley saying "hello, I'm Shelley Duvall" about a million times from her show Faerie Tale Theatre. It's HILARIOUS!!!! MADONNA FRIDAY: MADONNA'S ALBUM TRUE BLUE TURNS 25!

Technically it was yesterday, but this YEAR Madonna's amazing, classic #1 album True Blue turns 25!! Can you believe it!! Seems like only yesterday I was five years from being born listening to this album. What? Anyhoo... thought by many fans to be her finest work, True Blue was released June 30, 1986 and went onto to sell 24 millions albums worldwide, 7 million in the US alone, produced three #1 singles and two additional top 5 singles. Damn! Live To Tell, Papa Don't Preach and Open Your Heart hit the top spot while True Blue reached #3 and La Isla Bonita hit #4. Every song a classic and among her best. The album was also a shift in image, the first of many for Madonna, going from the tossled Boy-Toy era to the more sleek, mature look as featured on the album cover and in the videos for the album. It all worked, girl!! Let's just cut to the chase: here are the singles from True Blue for you to love. I can't believe it's been 25 years. Gawd, I'm old.
