ROMAN POLANSKI PLANS TO APPEAL JUDGE'S DECISION

Filmmaker and child rapist Roman Polanski will have to appeal a decision made Friday by an L.A. Superior Court judge stating that Polanski will not be sentenced in absentia. The ruling stated that Polanski "needs to surrender" in order to be sentenced for his 1977 unlawful sex case before they can consider any of his claims of judicial misconduct in the original proceeding. Bart Dalton, one of the lawyers representing the disgusting child molester, said his team would appeal the ruling by Judge Peter Espinosa. Polanski, in the meantime, is under house arrest, and by house arrest I mean he is living in his Swiss Mansion enjoying a life of luxury none of us non-rapist enjoy. He is still awaiting a decision on whether or not he will be extradited. Judge Espinosa cites a legal doctrine of fugitive disentitlement, which states that a defendant who flees cannot call on the courts for help. Sounds right to me. Roman needs to come back and face his charges. I don't care how long it's been or who has forgiven him. It's a crime and crime is supposed to be punished. Case closed. [source]
