GLAAD MEDIA AWARDS HANDED OUT IN LOS ANGELES

GLAAD Media Award recipients were announced in five of this year's 32 media categories at the 21st Annual GLAAD Media Awards presented in Los Angeles at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza on Saturday. Additional awards were presented in New York on March 13 and will be presented in San Francisco on June 5 at the Westin St. Francis. Among the winners for the awards, given out for showing a positive image of gays, lesbians and transgendered people, were:
Outstanding Film-Wide Release: A Single Man
Outstanding Comedy Series: Glee
Outstanding Reality Program: RuPaul's Drag Race
Umm, I'm obsessed with all of those winners. Also, Drew Barrymore was given the Vanguard Award, which honors efforts to increase visibility and understanding of the gay community. Barrymore said,"the thing that means the most to me about an evening like this, and why I want to fight and be outspoken about this is because there are so many people who are in desperate need of families." Good point, Drew. Adam Lambert also performed a couple of songs for the crowd. Sounds like a gay ol' time was had by all. Get it? Gay. I'm funny.
