KELSEY GRAMMER SPOKESMAN FOR NEW TEABAGGER NETWORK, COMPLETE HYPOCRITE

The freakin' nerve of this guy! Currently starring on Broadway and making money off of the gay community in La Cage Aux Folles, Kelsey Grammer has the f*cking nerve to put his support behind Right Network, a full-on Teabaggers network. The ad, in which Grammer says "there's wrong and there's right" makes fun of many things, but one that stands out to me that he says is "just not right" is "grown man tickle fights", which he follows with "that's definitely not right". Homophobic much? He also criticizes flightless birds, running in place, baby carrots and left-handed scissors. I mean, what kind of idiotic, backwards ad is this? The fact that this man is in a Broadway show right now that supports the gay community and gay relationships and even gay marriage and then puts his celebrity (or what's left of it) behind something as stupid and offensive as Right Network makes me so angry I don't know what to do with myself. Disgraceful!! I know you are television ratings poison now, but, SHAME ON YOU Kelsey for either pretending to be a compassionate, thinking human being by playing a gay character on Broadway or for taking money to support a bigoted, moronic movement about hate. You are the lowest form of human being on the planet. F YOU!

  1. Clearly he's referencing Eric Massa with the tickle fight joke - and even I, a progressive liberal have to agree with him. If you really want to know where Mr. Grammer stands on the issues you should read the interview he gave to New York Magazine. from the magazine - "On the subject of gay marriage in general, he adds, “Why is the government involved at all? If two men marry or two women marry, fine, go ahead—it’s not my issue. But when governments get involved, it just becomes more confusing.” http://nymag.com/arts/theater/features/64948/

  2. Well those statements prove my point. He is talking out of both sides of his mouth. The teabaggers do NOT support gay rights and he is doing an ad endorsing a network pushing the right wing agenda, so he is a hypocrite of the highest degree. The ad is stupid (what is wrong with grape vodka?)and his support of the group is deplorable. Anyone watching the ad is getting a clear message on what Kelsey thinks is "wrong" and I don't think it jibes with his being in a show that is about gay marriage, relationships and equality.

  3. Those statements do not prove your point, and you hardly had time to read the article I suggested in the time it took you to approve my remarks and write your knee jerk reaction. You're as dogmatic as the teabaggers. There must be room for difference of opinion and for agreement between opposing political forces. If we don't stand up for that, we're no better than the party of no. If Mr. Grammer is a screaming, irrational teabagger, which I sincerely doubt, and he does support gay marriage then maybe he'll be able to lead a few of the more rational teabaggers away from the far right and back toward the center. Wouldn't that be a boon for us? Don't look a gift horse in the mouth and be willing to find out more about someone else's opinion before damning them completely.

  4. I read the article and his statements are NOT supporting gay marriage as much as just ignoring it as something that has nothing to do with him ("it's not my issue"). Not exactly a ringing endorsement. So who cares if he makes pandering statments to try to sell theatre tickets if he turns around and supports a party (the teabaggers) that have beceom notorious for their homophobic and racist remarks. Like you said, everyone is entitled to their opinion and this one is mine.

  5. You're certainly welcome to your opinion, although that's not exacly what I said - which isn't to say I don't believe it.

There's more in that article that shows his true feelings about gay relationships, and as you read in his description of Albin and Georges', he feels they are fully equal to heterosexual relationships. btw - La Cage is a fantastic show (the best of this Broadway season in my humble estimation) well worth seeing no matter your orientation or political leanings.

  6. I think we agree on the issue of gay marriage and equality, just not on Kelsey! Ha. I too saw La Cage and fully support the production and the cast. I want all performers to have successful shows on Broadway.
