REVIEW: KE$HA - ANIMAL
Seemingly out of nowhere, Ke$ha has the No. 1 song in America (and a couple of other countries) and it's like.... huh? At first, I H-A-T-E-D the song Tik Tok, but I have to admit that I am a little obsessed with it now. It really got in my head and her album, Animal, is kinda the same. Full of catchy hooks like Tik Tok, Take it Off and and Backstabber, all full of biting, funny lyrics and attitude, Ke$ha has given us a pretty solid album all in all. There's even a hint of a softer side with the tracks Dancing with Tears in My Eyes and the ambient and -- dare I say -- pretty Animal. There is also A LOT of autotune, which would make you think Ke$ha probably can't sing, but judging from some live performances on youtube, seems she can. Who knows. A little like Katy Perry, her voice is limited, but effected in the pop genre. Give this album a shot. Some of the standouts are Kiss N Tell, the Owl City influenced Hungover and Blind. Really not a bad track on the cd. Nice, Ke$ha. Still not sold on the "$" though.
