DOLLY PARTON TALKS CONCERTS AND HER CAREER WITH CMT

American treasure Dolly Parton sat down for interview with CMT.com to discuss her career and her life on the stage, in the studio and on screen. The living legend was one of the first country artists to cross over into mainstream pop culture and is still churning out albums and easily one of the most recognizable figures in the entertainment industry. During the interview Dolly discusses her humble beginnings on the Porter Wagner show stating, "we've come a long way since then," and how the music industry has changed since she started in the 60s. "A lot of times, it's sort of like how they do corporate shows now. We used to do things in the parking lots of like a Zayre's or a Wal-Mart-type store. The company would pay you to come to bring people to the mall or the different stores, so we used to do some of that," explains the star. Dolly discusses her songwriting and how her time in Hollywood affected by it. "I was purposely trying to do a certain thing. When I was having to do the movies, I think I was probably more involved in that, so I didn't have the time to really sit down as a songwriter and write the kind of songs that I would have liked to." She also talks about her gigantoid show Live from London she performed in 2008. The spectacle was recently released on CD/DVD. Dolly says she never imagined that one day she would be playing shows that big. When asked she replies, "No. Absolutely not. You don't think about it. I didn't even know you needed so many people to do that. But you do to do that type of production. There's a lot of work and a lot of money and a lot of people involved in that." Always the charmer, Dolly's interview is amazy as always. Legend, talent, geniune star and plastic surgery pioneer, Dolly Parton is a goddess!! Click link for full interview.
