The original Overboard is one of my fave funny movies of all time. Goldie Hawn is literally flawless in every sense of the word in that film. Classic, classic, classic. So naturally, Hollywood wants to rape it until it's dead. That honor is going to none other than Jennifer Lopez. Now, in her defense, I do think she is right for the part of a rich, spoiled wife who gets amnesia from falling off a yacht and being hit by a garbage scow, loses her memory and is tricked into servitude by a country carpenter, but is she funny enough??? Probably not. Hence the rape! Who will play the Kurt Russell role? Mickey Rourke? Jebus!!! Is this the day of remaking things to ruin my childhood or what!!! First Flashdance, now Overboard.
