THE HOUSE PASSES HEALTH CARE REFORM BILL

Well there you have it. The House passed the health care reform bill 219-212. The bill now goes on it's merry little way to be signed by President Obama. Obama made the statement that this "proves that we are still capable of doing big things. We proved that this government -- a government of the people and by the people -- still works for the people." The highly controversial bill has been fought for and against hard core and every Republican in the House voted no. The bill will return to the Senate with a 153-page packet of revisions. Towlerroad explains "There, Democrats will implement an obscure, but commonly used, reconciliation rule to try to pass the revisions based on a simple majority and avoid a Republican filibuster." This all gets so confusing. Just tell me when it's over. Ha. The country has been divided on this subject and there have been so many revisions that it's hard to remember what it is that is passing. For a reminder on how a bill becomes a law, watch below! [source]
