GREEN DAY'S AMERICAN IDIOT: THE MOVIE?

Looks like Green Day's album American Idiot isn't just moving to Broadway, there is now going to be a movie! The stage show, which incorporates songs from the bands American Idiot and 21st Century Breakdown albums is opening on Broadway next month, but Firstshowing.net is reporting, "Tom Hanks' Playtone Productions want to tell the coming-of-age story of three small-town guys: one joins the armed forces, another moves to the city and gets lost in drugs, and the third stays home and gets his girlfriend pregnant. These kids definitely aren't all right." I've heard some really good things from people who have seen the musical, so with the recent years rush of successful movie musicals (Chicago, Mamma Mia) it's only natural Hanks wants to cash in with one that might peak the interest of a new generation, especially since both In the Heights and Rock of Ages are already coming off the stage and onto the screen. I love musical movies, so the more the merrier I say! How about you? [source and image]
