JENNIFER LOPEZ NO LONGER WITH SONY

J. Lo is no longer with her long-time record label, Sony Epic. Her album Love? is no longer coming out. Her movie, The Back Up Plan (ugh) has been pushed back. What the hell is going on with J. LO? Well according to her manager, Benny Medina, "Jennifer had a wonderful relationship with the Sony Music Group, and they have shared many successes together, but the time was right to make a change that best serves the direction of her career as an actress and recording artist, she is grateful and appreciative to everyone at Sony for all that they accomplished." Now I think in manager-speak that might mean: "Jennifer put out a couple of crappy singles, no one wants them, Sony dumped her ass and now she needs a new label." Right? Doesn't that sound more likely? Unless by the "direction of her career as an actress and recording artist" he means away from popularity. I ain't trying to hate on Jennifer, but this is the way things work when you are not making your record company any $$$. Good luck, Jennifer. You need to get a nomination for something... besides a Blockbuster award. [source]
