GLADD MEDIA AWARDS HELD

The Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defemation, GLADD Media Awards were given out to a few lucky recipients yesterday. Among them were the ABC show "Brothers and Sisters", NBC's "Parks and Recreation", MSNBC's "The Rachel Maddow Show" and the Lifetime movie "Prayers for Bobby".Joy Behar recieved an excellence in media award. The biggest award of the night was given to Sex & the City star and gay activist Cynthia Nixon, the Vito Russo Award, which is named after a founding member of GLAAD and presented to a gay media professional who has made a significant difference in promoting equal rights for the gay community. That she has! Cynthia is really a true inspiration and a great advocate for the gay community. She's smart, thoughtful, well spoken and she looks great in a pair of high heels. Congrats to all the recipients at the GLAAD Media Awards. [source and image]
