COUNTRY "STAR" CHELY WRIGHT COMES OUT

I use the term "star" loosely since I have never heard of this person before in my entire life. People magazine announced a while back that they had an exclusive "coming out" cover..um...coming out on May 5th. Of course everyone started speculating. Some thought it was Shelby Lynne, the slightly more famous singer, but it turns out to be the last person anyone would guess....because no one knows her. Chely Wright has apparently had a couple of hits on the country charts, and I think it's great for someone in that community to come out as a lesbian. To celebrate her decision to come out, Wright will be attending the GLAAD Media Awards in San Francisco on June 5th. GLAAD president Jarrett Barrios states, "Chely Wright offers country music fans a tremendous opportunity to better understand our community and the importance of conversations that move us toward lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender equality." Chely had a #1 country hit in 1999 called Single White Female. No, I have never heard it. [source]
