Since I'm on holiday this Madonna Friday, why not revisit the very first charting Madge single, Holiday!!!!!! Reaching #16 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #2 on the UK charts, it was the very first taste of Madonna for the general, non-club centric public. Before this single, Madonna had only impacted the dance music charts with Burning Up, Everybody and Physical Attraction, but after this single it was a whole different story. Holiday is a signature tune for Madonna and she still performs it to much joy at her shows. As a matter of fact, in a 2005 interview Madonna admitted that Holiday was her favorite of all of her songs. So there ya go.
