LADY GAGA DISSOLVES HER DEAL WITH TARGET

I am actually really relieved to hear this. When Lady Gaga announced that she would be selling an exclusive version of her new album Born This Way at Target, many in the LGBT community were perplexed. It's pretty well known that Target has contributed lots of money to many anti-gay politicians, such as Rep. Tom Emmer in Minnesota, and organizations like MN Forward. These groups fought hard against marriage equality. Gaga discussed her dealings with Target in Billboard last month:
"That discussion was one of the most intense conversations I've ever had in a business meeting. Part of my deal with Target is that they have to start affiliating themselves with LGBT charity groups and begin to reform and make amends for the mistakes they've made in the past ... our relationship is hinged upon their reform in the company to support the gay community and to redeem the mistakes they've made supporting those [antigay] groups."

Well apparently Target has not lived up to their end of the deal because Gaga has pulled out of the partnership. The Advocate is reporting via Bob Witeck of Witeck-Combs Communications:

"She and Target didn't see eye to eye on Target's policy of political donations and how they affect the LGBT community."

Good!! I joined the Target boycott and so can you. Join the facebook page to keep up with events and news on Target's anti-gay donations. So glad Gaga changed her mind. Now back to the music.
