REVIEW: KYLIE MINOGUE - APHRODITE

She's already a pop goddess, so why not pattern her album after an actual goddess? Aphrodite, Kylie Minogue's new album, is certainly fit for deity. Kylie has strung together an slick, danceable, delectable group of pop sugar that will have you dancing all summer long. I have already fallen in love with lead single All the Lovers (and if you have any taste, you have too!!), but there are so many gems on the new record you will be bloated with sonic happiness. Get Outta My Way pumps with guitars and booms and Put Your Hands Up (If You Feel Love) is a throwback to early 90s Kylie and shows that she was always ahead of her time. Closer and Everything is Beautiful slow it down a little bit with dreamy arrangement and lyrics of love. Aphrodite starts off a little like Speakerphone, but the end product is nothing like it at all...in a good way. Minor keys and soul with a bit of R&B thrown in to the mix. This is a single crying to be released. Illusion starts with a trippy vocal intro before kicking into an electro beat and funky blips. Better Than Today was introduced on Kylie's American tour, but here it is in full, studio effect. Better than ever!! Too Much is a groovy song that again hearkens back to early Kylie with it's cute, girlish tone and dance beats that would make Paula Abdul swoon in her heyday. Cupid Boy has an indie feel and could easily be Kylie's next single. It's sex and love at it's lyrical best and musical orgasm with a bare chorus that is pure heaven. Looking for an Angel and Can't Beat the Feeling round out the album with an uplifting, dreamy one-two punch. This is an amazy summer album that will be HARD to beat. Good luck everyone else releasing music this summer. GO KYLIE!!! A+
