POP ICON CYNDI LAUPER NOMINATED FOR GRAMMY FOR BLUES ALBUM

Iconic singer Cyndi Lauper has once again proven herself a chameleon when it comes to genres of music. Her album of blues standards called Memphis Blues is nominated for a Grammy in the category of Best Traditional Blues Album. The album was released on June 22, 2010 and spent 13 weeks at #1 on the Billboard Blues Chart. This marks Lauper's 13th Grammy nomination, her first being her win for Best New Artist in 1985 for her groundbreaking debut She's So Unusual. Cyndi has sold about 30 million albums worldwide and remains an important influence and icon for singers and performers today. Let's keep our fingers crossed for Cyndi!!!
