MADONNA FRIDAY: BUENOS AIRES

Yep, Madonna was the perfect star for the movie musical Evita. I mean, c'mon! She IS Evita. A girl who had to find the right guy to put her on top, but once she got there, she made everyone fall in love with her. The rest is history. Very smart casting, and, it turns out, Madonna's finest movie moments to date. She went on to win the Golden Globe for Best Actress/Musical, Comedy. Buenos Aires is my fave song from Evita, and the most exciting number I think. The fun fact behind this scene: You can see in some parts, mostly the beginning and end, that Madonna is her usual sleek, fit self. The dance scene, however, had to be rushed into production because Madonna was pregnant and began to show. You can really see that baby bump, a.k.a. Lourdes, in the dance number. Ha. She nailed it anyway. Nicely done, Madge. What a pro! The song was never released as a single from the film's soundtrack, but it was released as a promo only single for all to enjoy. The songs from Evita that were released included the original song written by Andrew Lloyd Webber to accompany the film, You Must Love Me, which went on to win the Oscar for Best Original Song (#18 US, #10 UK), Don't Cry for Me Argentina (#8 US, #3 UK) and Another Suitcase in Another Hall (#7 UK release only).
