Kanye West has released a video for his new single Monster and it's chock full of stars. Nicki Minaj, Jay-Z, Rick Ross and Bon Iver. Watcha' think? It's pretty dark, no? This is close to what I imagined would have been Lady Gaga's video for HER song Monster if she had made one (and I wish she would have).

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, TRACEY ULLMAN!!! FLASHBACK!

Funny lady and singer Tracey Ullman turns 51 today!!! Most of you know Tracey as a comedian/actress from tv and movies, but did you know Tracey was also a singer and had a major top 10 hit in the 80s? I do. It is one of the best of the 80s in my opinion and it's called They Don't Know. The song hit the charts in 1983 and went to #2 in the UK and #8 in the US. It's amazingly wonderful! Watch it below while you celebrate the BAFTA, Golden Globe and Emmy award winner Tracey Ullman.

KATY PERRY'S NEXT SINGLE WILL BE E.T.

Yep, it's time for another Katy Perry song from her album Teenage Dream. She recently asked followers on her twitter page to vote for the next single and the result is apparently the sexy, fun E.T. I personally wanted it to be Peacock because it's sassy and nasty, but E.T. should do well. Anyhoo, no word yet on the release date, but you can listen to the track below if you are curious, or even if you're not. Oh, just listen. FLASHBACK: SHEILA E.

I saw Prince at Madison Square Garden this past weekend. It was truly one of the best shows I have ever seen. He is timeless and ageless and wonderful. One REALLY special surprise for me was when Sheila E. rose up from under the stage with her drum set. (The pic from the show) I almost died! Sheila E. was already a sought after session drummer when Prince decided she should move to the front and helped her launch her solo career. Anyway, she sang The Glamorous Life, one of my fave songs of all time, and played the drums like a DIVA! She had on a tight dress that showed she is in TOP form. When she came back for the encore she sang her hit duet with Prince A Love Bizarre and it was a dream come true for me. I thought I had lost the chance forever to see Sheila E. play live, and there she was. It was a very special moment for me. Here are some of Sheila's best and greatest hits. Check her out.

FLASHBACK: DO THEY KNOW IT'S CHRISTMAS?

In 1984-85 the world was trying their best to help in Africa and there were a couple of benefit songs that were big hits: We Are the World and this one. Band Aid was made up of the biggest recording stars in the UK, some of which were actually American. Featuring Duran Duran, Sting, Boy George, Bono, Jody Watley, Bananarama, George Michael, Phil Collins, et al and written by Bob Geldof and Midge Ure, DTKIC reached the top of the UK charts on December 11, 1984, stayed there for five weeks and was the biggest selling UK single until 1997, when Candle In The Wind 1997 took it's place. Because US charts depended heavily on airplay the song only reached #13 on the Billboard Hot 100, despite outselling all other singles during it's time of release. It is an 80s classic for sure and one of the most memorable songs of it's time. Now watch and enjoy Do They Know It's Christmas or you are a jerk.

AMAZY MUSIC AWARDS: TOP 15 ALBUMS OF 2010

Here are the top 15 album of 2010 according to me. What more do you need, really? A fine crop this year ranging from pop to rap to, yes, folk. Various artists are making repeat appearances on my list from years prior, some are brand-spankin' new. I need to explain that the ONLY reason Lady Gaga's The Fame Monster isn't on this list is because it was included in last years countdown at #1 with The Fame as one album. There. I said it. Now, on with the ones that DID make it on this year's best-of-the-best list. Enjoy and blindly agree.

15. Fixin' to Thrill - Dragonette. The Canadian band delivered an album full of catchy, dark dance-pop that took songs like We Rule the World and Fixin' to Thrill and put them directly on my gym playlist. I'm sure we're gonna hear plenty more from these hipsters in the future.

14. Night Work - Scissor Sisters. The Sisters are back! Their highly anticipated third cd brought plenty of sass and raunch to the masses. There's even an appearance by Sir Ian McKellan! Top that!!! Pure 70s, roadhouse disco (if there is such a thing) permeates Night Work and Jake is in singing like nobody's business. The amazing Invisible Light and Skin That Cat are highlights for me, but the whole thing is worth a spin on your iPod and a spin on the dance floor.

13. We Are Born - Sia. Sia put aside some of her woefulness in favor of a party record, delivering We Are Born with plenty of fun. Her cover of Madonna's somber Oh, Father even somehow seems uplifting on this record, and it's brilliant. Academia, Clap Your Hands and The Fight set the tone for an awesome sing-along album that places Sia in the forefront of new pop music.

12. Teenage Dream - Katy Perry. While Perry may have sold out a bit on this, her second record, it's an easy sell. Teenage Dream was my fave song of the year and California Gurls was undeniably catch beyond belief. Firework, Peacock, E.T. and Hummingbird Heartbeat are great tracks and could easily be singles. There are still more hits to come from this album, so buckle up for Katy in 2011.

11. Soldier of Love - Sade. Ah, there is nothing like relaxing to some Sade, and she gave us beautiful music to zone out to this year. Soldier of Love showcases Sade's deep, rich voice on songs that will melt your toes for sure. The title track, Moon and the Sky...oh hell...all of the songs are lush in a way that only Sade can do. Bravo, girl. You made the lovers record of 2010.

10. The Sea - Corinne Bailey Rae. Still mourning the loss of her husband to a drug overdose, Rae has delivered a record full of angst, lost love and passion. Perhaps one of the best songs of the year remains unreleased from this album, Are You Here. It is truly one of the most beautiful songs of heartbreak that you will ever hear in your entire life. Corinne's voice is full of emotion and the album is a reflection of her recent life experiences. Check it out for a good cry.

9. Pink Friday - Nicki Minaj. It took 3,000 guest appearances on other people's records to get there, but Minaj dropped a bomb-diggity album with Pink Friday. Catchy, poppy, naughty and funny, Minaj takes over where Lil' Kim left off (and Kim ain't happy about it apparently) and doesn't take a wrong step on this debut album. Roman's Revenge is brutal, Your Love is sweet, Right Thru Me is epic. Nicki lived up to the hype no doubt. Love this album.

8. Glee: The Music. The Power of Madonna. Well of course Madonna makes her way onto my countdown somehow. The second I heard that Glee was doing a whole episode in tribute of the Queen of Pop I knew I would love it. Well, first I shat myself, then I knew I would love it. It's really an excellent tribute. The mashup of Borderline and Open Your Heart is inspired and Like a Prayer is still an amazingly moving song. What a great recording of great songs by a great artist. Bravo, Glee. You rocked this one out.

7. Memphis Blues - Cyndi Lauper. I mean, Cyndi is just about the most talented person ever. I swear she can do anything. I wasn't too excited when I heard she was following up her amazy 2008 album Bring Ya To The Brink with an album of blues covers, but I was W-R-O-N-G!!! Cyndi's voice is perfect for the blues and she sings with such conviction that you can feel every bit of joy, pain and longing in her voice on tracks like the perfect Down So Low and Crossroads. I can't wait to see what genre she'll tackle next, but I do know it will be perfection. From 80s icon to blues chanteuse, Cyndi's got it all.

6. Flesh Tone - Kelis. This album of dance music is remarkable in it's catchiness, consistency and groove. Kelis is more known for her hip hop stylings and her Milkshake, but this album Flesh Tone proved that she is a dance floor diva indeed! Acapella, Fourth of July, Scream: it's a non-stop party. What a breath of fresh air to have an artist no rely on their past successes and copy them over and over for the sake of selling records. This album was largely ignored, and a lot of people missed out because of it. But not me. Get it now.

5. Have One On Me - Joanna Newsom. Freak-folk some call it. Lovely and

unique is the way I would describe Joanna Newsom and her album Have One On Me. Ms. Newsom came back after her ambitious 2006 album Ys with a slightly different sound and voice (which she attributes to having nodes removed and other vocal modifications) Have One On Me is exceedingly beautiful and thoughtful. Easy, Good Intentions Paving Company and 81 are among the highlights of the 18 tracks on this album, but the whole album is a testament to individuality in an increasingly some-ol-some-ol music business. Her voice is still haunting and gritty and her writing is brilliant. Can't say enough good things.

4. Animal/Cannibal - Ke$ha. Say what you will, Ke$ha put out one of the catchiest, funniest records of the year. Dinosaur alone is worth the buy (Hittin' on me, what? You need a CAT scan) Every song is memorable and she has clearly hit the mainstream with it, having her second #1 with We R Who We R from the supplement EP Cannibal (the first of course being the jam-tastic Tik Tok). Putting these two records together, it's a no-brainer for one of my fave albums of the year. Can she follow it up? Who freakin' cares? Just enjoy this one.

3. Aphrodite - Kylie Minogue. Wow! 20 some-odd years into her career and Kylie is still the Goddess of Pop. So it's appropriate that her latest album is called Aphrodite. A pure dance record, Aphrodite opened big with the single All the Lovers, arguably the best Kylie track since Can't Get You Out of My Head, and the rest of the cd packs a punch as well. Especially the title track that I can't BELIEVE hasn't been released as a single. Get Outta My Way has been on every show on tv lately and there are more dance floor gems than you can shake a dick at. Kylie never disappoints and this year is no exception.

2. Body Talk Pt. 1, 2 & 3 - Robyn. Wow! Three albums in one year is an amazing accomplishment in itself, but three GREAT albums is even better. Robyn dropped Body Talk Pts. 1, 2 & 3 on an mostly unsuspecting public this year and had a dance party that would not stop. Singles Dancing on My Own, Hang With Me and Indestructible were just the tip of the iceberg as there were tons of single-worthy songs on the three sets. In My Eyes, Love Kills, U Should Know Better (w. Snoop Dogg) and Stars 4-Ever could have easily been singles and equally beloved. Robyn is said to be returning to the studio in January already to record more music. I doubt she'll give us three in 2011, but we can always hope. Dance on, Robyn!!!

1. Head First - Goldfrapp. They did it again. Goldfrapp's fifth studio album, Head First, is near perfection. They have explored everything from cabaret to folk, disco to electro and now they are firmly set in the 80s groove of Olivia Newton John and Billy Joel if they were producted by the Pet Shop Boys or Erasure. The album doesn't have a bad track on it. Singles Rocket, Alive and Believer were three of the most entrancing songs of the year, and don't get me started on Head First, Dreaming or I Wanna Life. There last album, Seventh Tree, topped my 2008 list and now they've done it again. Their live shows are top-notch and this one was no exception. Goldfrapp is exciting and smart and innovative and they prove it time and again.

ROBYN PERFORMS AT THE NOBEL PEACE PRIZE CONCERT

Robyn is a performer like nobody's business, so it's fitting to have her do her thang at the Nobel Peace Prize concert. Here is our girl doing her songs Jag vet en dejlig rosa, Dancing On My Own and Indestructible. Even though she released three albums in 2010, Robyn recently stated that she is hitting the studio again in January to record some more music. Amazy! Love her!!!!!!

AMAZY MUSIC AWARDS: SINGLES (5-1)

Here it is!!! The moment you have all been waiting for: the top 5 singles of 2010 as compiled by your friendly neighborhood narcissist. It's been quite a year in the music biz, but these artist have come through for me. They are all past faves and remained at the top of their game with stunning performances and albums this year. It was REALLY REALLY REALLY hard to pick the #1 song, but in the end it came down to catchiness, sass and gut feeling. In case you need a look back here are 20-16, 15-11 and 10-6 for you viewing pleasure. Without further adieu, here are the top 5 singles of 2010.

5. Alejandro - Lady Gaga. With and addictive hook and killer chorus, Gaga remained our Lady again this year. This video is one of the most stunning pieces of art I have ever seen as well.


4. All the Lovers - Kylie Minogue. Kylie does not disappoint with this dance floor anthem about love. Looking beautiful as ever with lots of half naked hotties around her, Kylie got me right through the heart with this one.


3. Goldfrapp - Alive. Alive is everything I love about pop music: synths, bright chorus, great vocals and 80s 80s 80s. It's like an Olivia Newton John song on acid. And in true Goldfrapp tradition, the video is TWISTED!!!! Here is Goldfrapp top charter this year on my list.


2. Dancing On My Own - Robyn. This was a close one. DOMO is pure pop ecstasy. Sad and vibrant and danceable and woeful all at once, Robyn brings emotion to the dance floor and leaves me crying. Amazing song, amazing artist.

KATY PERRY MAKES BILLBOARD HISTORY

Katy Perry has done what no other woman has done before (for 11 years) and placed her third #1 single from Teenage Dream on the Billboard Hot 100. Firework bows at the top spot this week, jumping up from #2 and replacing Pink's Raise Your Glass. Of course, Firework follows California Gurls, which spent six weeks at the top back in June and July of 2010 and Teenage Dream, which hit #1 in September for two weeks. The last female artist to have three #1s from one album was Monica back in 98-99 with The Boy Is Mine (ft. Brandy), The First Night and Angel of Mine. Who knew? Anyhoo, Katy has got some killer singles on this album, so maybe she'll place a 4th and break all the rules. Congrats, Katy! Enjoy the uplifting video for Firework below.

POP ICON CYNDI LAUPER NOMINATED FOR GRAMMY FOR BLUES ALBUM

Iconic singer Cyndi Lauper has once again proven herself a chameleon when it comes to genres of music. Her album of blues standards called Memphis Blues is nominated for a Grammy in the category of Best Traditional Blues Album. The album was released on June 22, 2010 and spent 13 weeks at #1 on the Billboard Blues Chart. This marks Lauper's 13th Grammy nomination, her first being her win for Best New Artist in 1985 for her groundbreaking debut She's So Unusual. Cyndi has sold about 30 million albums worldwide and remains an important influence and icon for singers and performers today. Let's keep our fingers crossed for Cyndi!!! ....on the Sally Jesse Raphael Show!! Ha. Apparently she was doing a show entitled "I'm A Kid... And Already A Star!" and Lea was appearing in Les Mis at the time, so..... well you get it. Lea is pretty amazing even at 9. I can see why she is a rising star now. I LOVE how she so appropriatley applauds her accompaniast at the end. I wonder who all those loser has-been kids are behind her. JUST KIDDING! Check her out!

Glee is not just a sensation in America, but all over the world. The X Factor, one of the UK's biggest hits, soon to debut with Simon Cowell here, has HUGE stars do performances weekly and last week it was the cast of Glee. YAY!! Watch the gang tear up a version of Don't Stop Believin' for the UK audience. Amazy! Rumors are circulating that the cast will tour the UK like they did here for Season 1. Fun! Glad to see the whole world is catching on and becoming Gleeks. Princess Lea may soon be Queen!

GOLDFRAPP NOMINATED FOR TWO GRAMMY AWARDS

My fave band Goldfrapp has garnered yet another round of Grammy Award nominations, this year for their amazy album Head First. The first single from the cd, Rocket, has been nominated in the category of Best Dance Recording and the album is up for the award for Best Electronic/Dance Album. Of course, I am sure that Goldfrapp will show up on my end of year round-up (see last years singles and albums). This album is really superb and I have listened to it an infinite amount of times since its release last March. It's an electronic romp through the 80s sound with that special Goldfrapp magic. They are truly one of a kind. Goldfrapp recently ended their contract with Mute/EMI and are expected to release one last album, a Best Of, with the label sometime in the coming year. I hope it has a couple of new songs!!! That would kick ass. Okay, here is Goldfrapp Grammy nominated song Rocket below. Check out their whole album if you haven't yet. It's a bright light of happiness that you will love love love.

KATY PERRY ON THE VICTORIA'S SECRET FASHION SHOW

Katy Perry performed Firework on the Victoria's Secret fashion show and was really good. Some are claiming there was some auto-tune going on, but either way, she looks fierce!!!!! What do you think? I have heard her sing live, in person and she was really good. I know some performances have been shaky, but I love Katy. Watch this!

Britney Spears is 29 today, y'all!!! Our lil' Brit-Brit has been through it the last couple of years, but it is looking like she is finally coming out of that funk for good (unless her boyfriend IS beating her, then that sucks). Britney is expected to release an album early 2011 and rock our worlds all over again. I do love me some Britney. This year she was honored by Glee with a tribute episode too. Can't get any cooler than that, but then again I'm a Gleek, so maybe that's just cool to me. Who knows. Who cares. So what. All right, enjoy some Spears below and have a nice day.

GLEE DOES HEY, SOUL SISTER

I am in LOVE with the Dalton Academy Warblers, the all-boys choir on Glee. First they lit up my life with Teenage Dream (which I've been listening to minutely), now Hey, Soul Sister. ADORBS!! Darren Criss, who plays Blaine, is so cute I just wanna eat him up! When is he gonna get all up in Kurt's kool-aid?? BTW, after two VERY sub par weeks of Glee, I was glad to see them get back to some actual storylines and a meaningful episode last night.
