BLACK SWAN IS THE NEW ROCKY HORROR?

If these Drag superstars get their way! In several cities around the country, Black Swan, the Academy Award winning film by Darren Aronofsky, will be getting the call-and-response, midnight-showing treatment that has thus far only been deemed appropriate for The Rocky Horror Picture Show and more recently Showgirls. Tomorrow night (April 2nd) in New York, LA, Chicago and San Francisco some fierce drag divas will be hosting an interactive screening at midnight at local theatres of Black Swan called The Black Swan Experience. Check HERE for details about an event near you. There will be special guests, give aways and the screening is FREE!!! Might be annoying if you've never seen it before though, huh? In NYC the event is hosted by Shequida and Manila Luzon from RuPaul's Drag Race. FUN!! So, are you gonna check it out?

NINA FROM BLACK SWAN GETS A SASSY GAY FRIEND

Sassy Gay Friend time!!! There are some major spoilers in this if you haven't seen Black Swan. Also, SHAME ON YOU IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN BLACK SWAN!!! Here is Sassy Gay Friend giving what's-what to Nina from the movie and setting her straight!! Hilarious!

FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION: MS. BLACK SWAN

OMG! HILARIOUS!! Ms. Swan was my favorite character from MadTv. The crazy lady played by Alex Borstein, now from Family Gay, was the only reason I ever watched the show. Her line "He look-a like a man" was all I said for six months when someone asked me what the guy I hooked up with last night looked like. Not that I had one night stands. I'm a virgin. I digress. Anyway, here is Alex in full Swan drag doing her version of Black Swan. It's Oscar worthy on it's own. Check it.

The Screen Actors Guild has announced it's nominees for 2010. Check out the list below. My picks are in bold. I am loving all the attention Black Swan is getting and I called it that Mila Kunis would get some kudos for her performance as well as the amazy Natalie Portman. I do have to say, I am all for Betty White's big comeback, but Best Actress in a TV Comedy for Hot In Cleveland may be pushing it a little far. Betty for President, but c'mon!!! BLACK SWAN!

REVIEW: BROTHERS

When I saw the trailer for Brothers, starring Tobey Maguire, Jake Gyllenhaal and Natalie Portman, my first thought was, "Great. Another war movie." I was partially right, but also SOOOOOOO wrong. This movie is about sorrow and redemption and forgiveness and the pain that your family can cause and the pain that only a family can heal. Maguire is a Marine Capt. Sam Cahill who is being shipped off to Afghanistan. Natalie Portman is his wife and he has two daughters played by the most amazing young actresses I have seen is years, Bailee Madison and Taylor Geare. Jake Gyllenhaal plays his brother Tommy who has recently gotten out of prison and has always been the black sheep of the family. When Maguire's copter is shot down overseas, the news reaches his family that he has been killed. His wife Grace (Portman) and family must start moving on with their life. One thing leads to another and Grace and Tommy become close. They kiss, but stop themselves and try to not take it any further. Interspersed with scenes of Capt. Cahill in a prison camp in Afghanistan (I won't tell you what happens there because it is what drives the story upon his return) we see how a family must move on through war and death. Sam is rescued and comes home to his family, but with deep emotional wounds that no one has any idea about. We watch as his world begins to crumble trying to deal with "normal" life again. This film is completely different than I thought it would be and Portman gives a riveting performance. Not to mention that I think she must be the most beautiful thing ever to be filmed since the beginning of time. Seriously, she is stunning. This film is definitely worth watching and you will get a good cry or two out of it as well. Highly recommended.

NATALIE PORTMAN TO STAR IN PRIDE AND PREJUDINCE AND ZOMBIES

This is an excellent choice!!! Natalie Portman is the perfect combo of great actress and sexy vixen fighter. Yea!! I am currently reading Pride and Prejudice and Zombies and was wondering who could pull of the classic Jane Austen text AND the martial arts required for the character of Elizabeth Bennett. The book is so fun and so great and I just know that the film will rock as well. Described as an expanded version of the Austen classic, the book tells the timeless story of a woman’s quest for love and independence amid the outbreak of a deadly virus that turns the undead into vicious killers. If you haven't read the book by Jane Austen and Seth Grahame-Smith, you have to do so immediately. Portman is also producing. I cant' wait to hear the rest of the cast. [source]
