Happy birthday, Susan. The Britain's Got Talent singer runner-up is 54 today. Boyle's introduction to the world as a frumpy Scottish spinster, Boyle's amazing voice didn't seem to fit her appearance and garnered praise from the judges and the public alike. Since releasing her debut album, I Dreamed A Dream, in 2009, Susan has gone on to sell over 25 million albums worldwide and had two US and three UK #1 albums. Not too bad for a shy old gal. A while back there were all sorts of rumors that Jennifer Lopez was going to be appearing on Glee as a lunch lady, but looks like they replaced her with the next logical choice...Susan Boyle. If you can't get J. Lo, get SuBo!! EW reports that the Scottish singing sensation from X Factor is going to be donning the hairnet and gloves to join the cast for a Christmas episode next season. EW reports:
"Now, EW has learned a certain music (and YouTube) sensation may be appearing on the hit Fox series in a season two Christmas episode: Susan Boyle. The Britain’s Got Talent runner-up is conveniently on the same record label, Columbia, as the Glee cast. And who would Boyle play? 'I have two words for you: Lunch. Lady,' says Glee co-creator Ryan Murphy. 'I think Kurt would just die to give her a Christmas makeover. I don’t even know if she’s interested but it’s been pitched."

TAIWAN HAS THE NEXT SuBo!

This Taiwanese kid came up out of nowhere and sang the bejesus out of a Whitney Houston song. Lin Yu Chun appeared on the Taiwanese show "Super Star Talent" and belted out I Will Always Love You in a voice that Whitney would kill for right now. (she's sicky and had to cancel some shows) He totally Susan-Boyled it, dude! He is now the front runner for the $1 Million prize for winning the show. SUSAN BOYLE IS ROLLING IN DOUGH, BUT NOT BAKER'S DOUGH THIS TIME.

SuBo has sold a lot of albums. I know, it's amazing that a semi-good, frumpy, mentally fragile woman could sell millions of albums simply because people pity her, but it's true. Blah, blah I'm mean, blah. blah. Since the release of her debut album I Dreamed a Dream, which has sold 8.5 million copes globally (what?) Scottish housefrau Boyle has supposedly been living on an allowance from Simon Cowell, who helped discover her on Britain's Got Talent. Well now Boyle is set to receive her first big check for her work and it's reportedly in the amount of $6 million! She is set to get the cash on her 49th birthday, April 1st. Good for her, I guess. What do you think she'll do with the money?

SIMON COWELLL LINES UP STARS FORM US AND UK FOR HAITI RELIEF

Simon Cowell has plenty of pull to get lots of big names on his single, a cover of REM's Everybody Hurts, to raise money for Haiti. Half the proceeds will go to Helping Haiti, a fund set up by The Sun, and the other 50 percent will go to the Disasters Emergency Committee. Some of the big names he already has lined up are Robbie Williams, Mariah Carey, Kylie Minogue, Jay-Z, Susan Boyle, Rod Stewart, Alexandra Burke, Leona Lewis, Cheryl Cole, James Blunt, Miley Cyrus, Michael Buble and Mika. Damn! That's a lot of star power. The song is currently being recorded in L.A. Robbie Williams states, “I'm very honoured to be asked to contribute to the single. We can all do something to help the people of Haiti - and I urge everyone to do what they can.” Agreed. The Hope for Haiti concert brought in almost $58 million last weekend. SuBo took a break from the #1 spot on the Billboard 200 Album Chart as Ke$ha took over last week, but it's looking like her appearance on Oprah this week may catapult her back to the top. Idustry insiders are guessing her I Dreamed a Dream will sell around 80,000 copies this week. There is really only won thing that could keep her from the regaining her glory and that is: how many people bought the album from the Hope For Haiti telethon from Friday night? It would mark the first #1 album for a digital-only product. We'll have to see if people really got up and purchased to donate to the Haiti fund. I hope that enough people bought the Hope for Haiti album, not only so SuBo is closer to going away, but also because the proceeds are for such a worthy cause. Susan Boyle is either becoming a diva or losing her mind! Susan decided to give an impromptu concert Tuesday at London't Heathrow Airport......INTO A MOP! SuBo went ape shizz in the first class lounge singing into the mop and dacing around. She was waiting to board a British Airways flight on her way to Chicago to appear on Oprah! THAT should make for an interesting interview. Susan apparently using her famous (mediocre) voice to shout out every curse word she could think of also. One source present at the Scottish cow's performance said, "It was chaos. Susan was very restless and agitated from the minute she walked in and immediately started making a scene. She was singing and dancing around, shouting obscenities at full volume." YIKES! Sounds like SuBo should tour with Mariah! Get on the crazy train. I would see that tour for sure. (that rhymed) Okay. Taylor Swift ends the year with the biggest selling album, according to Nielsen SoundScan, as her Fearless, released in 2008, sold 3.2 million copies this year. Susan Boyle's I Dreamed a Dream came in second with 3.1 million copies, but the amazy thing about that is the album only came out in LATE NOVEMBER!!! WHAT?? That's incredible........y disheartening. No. Good for her. Michael Jackson came in at No. 3 with Number Ones (2.3 million). My girl Lady Gaga came in at No. 4 with The Fame (2.2 million) and Andrea Bocelli's My Christmas (2.2 million) rounded out the top 5. Lady Gaga's single Poker Face was the best selling single of 2009 in the UK this year while the top album went to I Dreamed a Dream by Susan Boyle. Gaga had the second best selling album with her debut, The Fame. Both singers (combined in the picture to the right) are still riding high on the charts on both sides of the pond. Gaga recently had some lovely words to say about SuBo stating, "I love Susan Boyle. She is my woman of the year...this time last year nobody knew who she was, and now she is knocking the world's established artists off the album and singles charts." Gaga is taking over the world!!! Bad Romance, the first single from The Fame Monster, has reached the top spot on the UK charts this week, making it Lady Gaga's third song to reach the peak position. Just Dance and Poker Face both reached #1 on the charts as well overseas. This has set a record in the UK as it is the most #1 songs in a single year by a female artist in chart history!!! Her album The Fame (the sales of The Fame and The Fame Monster are being combined overseas) also jumped up to #2 on the chart behind.....you guessed it.....SuBo! The TV Guide Network is airing a one hour special hosted by Piers Morgan, a judge from America's/Britain's Got Talent, called I Dreamed a Dream: The Susan Boyle Story. SUSAN BOYLE IS EXPECTED TO WOW US WITH RECORD SALES THIS WEEK

Britain's Got Talent/Internet sensation Susan Boyle is big!!! Not just her underwear, but her record sales. Boyle's debut album, I Dreamed a Dream, is in the running to surpass Eminem's top debuting album, The Relapse, for first week sales on the Billboard 200. That album scanned 608,000 last May according the Nielsen SoundScan. WHAT? Okay, I get it. Her voice is nice, but c'mon!!! I had no idea THAT many people were so hungry for mediocre vocal/pop. I mean, Lady Gaga, Adam Lambert (both also exceeding sales expectations as well) and Rihanna (sadly underperforming with her amazing Rated R) all debut this week, and SuBo is going to beat them all. Of course, her lasting power on the charts will not be the same as theirs since she is basically a novelty act, so we'll see how the final numbers play out.
