KOBE BRYANT ADDS HOMOPHOBE TO HIS RAPIST REPUTATION

Kobe Bryant showed his intelligence and vocabulary at a game this past Tuesday night, calling NBA ref Bennie Adams a "f**king f**got". Nice. You rape all your women with that mouth, Kobe? Apparently Bryant couldn't hold it together for the game and received a technical foul. In response he did what any rational, thinking sexual offender would do and pulled a slur out of his rapist kit against the ref. HRC released a statement:
"What a disgrace for Kobe Bryant to use such horribly offensive and distasteful language, especially when millions of people are watching. Hopefully Mr. Bryant will recognize that as a person with such fame and influence, the use of such language not only offends millions of LGBT people around the world, but also perpetuates a culture of discrimination and hate that all of us, most notably Mr. Bryant, should be working to eradicate."

They put it a lot nicer than I do. Kobe has received 15 technical fouls (one was rescinded last Monday) and if he gets one more he will not be able to play in the Lakers' first game next season. CHRISTOPHER MELONI IS A NEW YORKER FOR MARRIAGE EQUALITY

Adding his name to a list of celebs including Julianne Moore and Barbara Bush, Christopher Meloni, the dreamy actor from L&O, SVU and Oz, speaks out in support of marriage equality for HRC. Meloni says he believes in "love and family and fairness." I believe I agree. Watch his video below. I picked the picture out just for you. YAY!!!

JULIANNE MOORE APPEARS IN HRC NEW YORKERS FOR MARRIAGE EQUALITY AD

Julianne Moore is appearing in one of what is to be many television ads coming out this election season in New York in support of the Human Rights Campaign's New Yorkers for Marriage Equality. Moore is and has been an outspoken supporter of marriage equality and her message is strong. Others set to appear in spots are Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg, Rev. Al Sharpton Kevin Bacon, Kyra Sedgwick, Whoopi Goldberg, Fran Drescher, Tom Colicchio, and Jeanne Moutoussamy-Ashe, the widow of Arthur Ashe. Watch Julianne's ad below.

LADY GAGA SINGS IMAGINE AT HRC EVENT

Lady Gaga sang John Lennon's Imagine this past weekend, changing the words to reflect gay rights and mentioning Matthew Sheppard at the beginning. It's a wonderful performance and she is very humble and human. It's nice to see Gaga like this. Enjoy.

LADY GAGA MIGHT BE GAYER THAN ME

Lady Gaga has always been a supporter of gay rights and has declared herself to be bisexual, but she is going all out these days. She took the stage this past weekend next to President Obama at a Human Right Campaign event during the days surrounding the March for Equality. "All my friends growing up were gay, and tonight was a very, very special moment for all of us, and I respect and love everyone that works with HRC and wanted to be a representative for the young community of gay men and women, transgendered and bisexual, that will be coming tomorrow to march," she said about her support for the event and the community. When asked if she thought the President would keep his promises he made during his address (see prior post) she said, "I know he will". I hope he will too!!!! She was asked about her acceptance speech at the VMAs when she thanked "God and the gays", who did she thank more. She stated, "I thank them both equally because they made one another"...."For me, the gay community has been the most loyal and wonderful support of not only my career, but as friends to me my entire life." PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA SPEAKS TO THE GAYS

FINALLY!!!! Obama makes promises to start making good on his promises (does that make sense) in a speech to the HRC (Human Rights Campaign) in Washington D.C. last night. Obama said he would work to lift the ban on gays serving OPENLY in the military, work to ban discrimination in the workplace based on sexual orientation, and to give same-sex co0uples the same rights as straight couples. Acknowledging that many in the community are growing impatient with his seeming lack of effort, he also encouraged activists to keep pushing him and congress for change. Thousands of members of the LBGTQ community and our supporters are expected to march on the nations capital this weekend in support of equality. I was unable to attend because of my prior commitment to see Kylie here in the City this weekend, but I figure going to Kylie is almost the same thing, right? It may be gayer!! But in all seriousness, I am sad I couldn't make it, but I do give to the HRC and all their important work and my heart and support goes out to my brothers and sisters marching for our rights.
