KATY PERRY HOLDS OFF BRITNEY ON THE HOT 100

Katy Perry hangs on again to the top spot on the Hot 100 for a fifth week with E.T., keeping Britney Spears' new remix of of Till The World Ends ft. Nicki Minaj and Ke$ha from the summit. The Spears' track surges back into the top 10, jumping from #11 to #3. So what is in between the two monster tracks? The lovely Adele with Rolling in the Deep. Girl Power! Ke$ha, who is featured in Brit's remix, is also in the top 10 on her own at #8 with Blow. Rock it out, beyotches!

PREVIEW SHOT FROM JUDAS VIDEO: COMING TONIGHT!!!

Tonight is the night! Lady Gaga's is set to debut the video for her new single Judas tonight during American Idol. Set your DVRs so you don't have to sit through all that muck to get the vid. Here is a screen shot she posted on her twitter with these words:
"THE JUDAS KISS: a betrayal of a prophecy fulfilled? Thank you for trending, I'm so honored #JUDASTOMORROW."
Cool! The single has not been exactly surging up the charts since its debut, but maybe the video will put it back in public favor. Let's see....

KYLIE MINOGUE DAY: LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT

It's here!! I am gearing up for Kylie as you read this. For the finale of Kylie Minogue Day I present to you Love At First Sight. Apropriate since that's what it was for Kylie and I. The song was the follow-up single in the US to CGYOOMY and hit #23 on the Hot 100 and #1 on the Hot Dance Music/Club Play charts here. It's so bright and colorful and happy, which are great words to describe Kylie herself. Well, I'm off to a joyous night. Have fun and live for Kylie!!!

KYLIE MINOGUE DAY: WHAT DO I HAVE TO DO?

What Do I Have To Do? is pure 90s dancefloor ecstacy!! Released in 1991 from the Rhythm of Love album, WDIHTD hit #6 on the UK charts. Sadly Kylie was not releasing albums in the US at the time or, judging from what was on the charts then, it would have been HUGE!! The video is a sassy mix and black and white with pops of color and has Kylie is a very Bridget Bardot, 60s Hollywood glamour place. Watch and love.

KYLIE MINOGUE DAY: I BELIEVE IN YOU

I Believe In You was written for Kylie's greatest hits package Ultimate Kylie, and the song is just that, ULTIMATE! It's almost the perfect Kylie song: bubbly, sexy, playful and catchy as all hell. Written by Minogue with Jake Shears and Babydaddy from the Scissor Sisters, IBIY was released in 2004 and peaked at #2 on the UK charts, #6 in Australia and #3 on the US Dance Club chart. The song and video are both stunning. Enjoy I Believe In You, or you're stupid.

KYLIE MINOGUE DAY: PUT YOURSELF IN MY PLACE

One of the best vidoes of all time, IMO, is Kylie's Barbarella-inspired Put Yourself In My Place. The song is gorgeous and the video is fabulous. Sexy X 10!!! The song is from Kylie's 1994 album Kylie Minogue (not released in the US unfortunately) and was a hit in the UK (#11). Watch outerspace Kylie get ready for bed. Hot!!!

KYLIE MINOGUE DAY: CAN'T GET YOU OUT OF MY HEAD

Kylie came roaring back to the US charts with her uber-catchy 2001 song Can't Get You Out of My Head. The song re-established Kylie here in the US hitting #7 on the Hot 100. It's a classic. Enjoy the sexy video for CGYOOMH.

KYLIE MINOGUE DAY: THE LOCO-MOTION

WOOT!! Kylie's huge worldwide hit from 1988(#3 US), The Loco-Motion, propelled her onto the world stage and helped make her the star she is today. Enjoy!!

TONY AWARD NOMINATIONS ANNOUNCED

The 2011 Tony Award Nominations have been announced and Book of Mormon, from the creators of South Park, leads the pack with 14 nominations! Congrats boys!! The one GLARING snub is that of Daniel Radcliffe who was, IMHO, great in How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying. The audiences have loved him and most of the critics praised his work. I think it really sucks, but what can you do? Daniel, you were great. Aslo Marla Mindelle was a standout in Sister Act, and in my opinion the best part of the whole show. LADY GAGA RELEASES TRACK LISTING FOR BORN THIS WAY

HERE IT IS! THE ALBUM IS OUT MAY 23RD!!!! YAY!
BORN THIS WAY TRACKLISTING FOR THE ORIGINAL ALBUM 5.23.11 on Twitpic

CHRIS BROWN RIPS OFF TWO ARTISTS AT ONCE

Well done, Chris. Without comment on what a deplorable human being he is (oops, too late) I will note that Chris Brown's new song She Ain't You has accomlished quite a feat. Not only has it sampled one of my fave Michael Jackson songs Human Nature, it was able to rip off the far superior song Right Here by SWV from 1992. Right Here was first recorded without the sample of Human Nature, but later on released a remix with the AMAZING use of sampling and was a huge hit for the girl group. Now while other songs have been sampled many times by artists, Chris has actually used the sample AND THE MELODY FROM THE SWV SONG! At least write your own melody, Chrissy. It's supposed to be a tribute to MJ, but it's more of a "please like me again". Whatevs. Here is Chris Brown's song and the superior SWV song Right Here and the perfection that is MJ's original. Judge for yourself.
