BARBRA STREISAND TOPS THE BILLBOARD ALBUM CHARTS FOR SIXTH CONSECUTIVE DECADE!!!

Barbra Streisand doesn't need to do anything, thank you very much. Babs could sit back and polish those exquisite nails with $100 bills all day and still make more money than you. She doesn't feel like it though. She would rather put out an album of duets, called Partners, and crush the competition (namely that douchebag Chris Brown, whose new album X will debut at #2) by hitting #1 on the Billboard 200 album chart for the 10th time in her career selling a whopping 196,000 albums. Streisand now holds the record for posting a #1 album on the chart for SIX CONSECUTIVE DECADES!! What? Yes, her first #1 album, People, was in 1964 followed by 1974's The Way We Were, 1976's A Star Is Born, 1978's Greatest Hits: Vol. 2,  1980's Guilty, 1985's The Broadway Album, 1993's Back To Broadway, 1997's Higher Ground, 2009's Love Is The Answer and now Partners. She is tied for the most #1 albums in third place with Elvis and Bruce Springsteen, only bested by The Beatles, who have 19, and Jay-Z, who has 13. Work, Babs!! You get to hear Barbra call Babyface by his real name and say "Waiting to Exhale" in the most Barbra way imaginable, as if we'd never heard of it before. CLASSIC DIVA!! NEW VIDEO: RIHANNA - WE FOUND LOVE

WOW!!! This is some intense stuff. Rihanna excellent new single, We Found Love, has produced one of her most daring and provocative videos ever. The singer shows us what happens behind-the-scenes of a very volatile relationship. There's drugs, sex, violence and, well, someone vomits a ribbon. I don't know why. Anyway, it's actually quite a beautiful short film and sure to get people discussing whether or not it has anything to do with a certain ex of hers. Who knows. Just enjoy the intense beauty of Rihanna's We Found Love. I'm gonna go ahead and say it's among her best work yet.

CHRIS BROWN RIPS OFF TWO ARTISTS AT ONCE

Well done, Chris. Without comment on what a deplorable human being he is (oops, too late) I will note that Chris Brown's new song She Ain't You has accomlished quite a feat. Not only has it sampled one of my fave Michael Jackson songs Human Nature, it was able to rip off the far superior song Right Here by SWV from 1992. Right Here was first recorded without the sample of Human Nature, but later on released a remix with the AMAZING use of sampling and was a huge hit for the girl group. Now while other songs have been sampled many times by artists, Chris has actually used the sample AND THE MELODY FROM THE SWV SONG! At least write your own melody, Chrissy. It's supposed to be a tribute to MJ, but it's more of a "please like me again". Whatevs. Here is Chris Brown's song and the superior SWV song Right Here and the perfection that is MJ's original. Judge for yourself.

ANOTHER REASON TO LOVE THE BRITS: CHRIS BROWN DENIED VISA

Looks like beating up on a girl is going to stick with you for a while, Chris Brown. Yearning to take his Fan (singular) Appreciation tour to the UK, Chris Brown will have to sit on that for a while because British immigration has denied him a work visa. HA! The reason for the denial is believed to be the singer's conviction on felony assault charges stemming from his fight with Rihanna last year. GOOD!! I'm sure there weren't that many people lining up to see Brown anyway......unless they were in some sort of fight club. What a douchebag! The tour was to travel through England and Ireland. [source]

JUDGE GIVE CHRIS BROWN A GOOD REPORT AT PROBATION HEARING

I would ask Rihanna's face about this. Chris Brown, the Ike Turner of this generation, was in LA to face Judge Patricia Schnegg (that is such a pretty name) for a hearing about how his five year probation for beating Rihanna is going. I guess it was all peaches and cream because the Judge had all kinds of praise for the woman-beating a-hole. She remarked on how Chris hasn't missed one visit to his domestic abuse counselor and has done 32 days of "hard" labor in his home state of Virginia. I think for "hard labor" they should have let every woman in America that has been the victim of domestic abuse take a swing at his face with their blunt object of choice. That's just me. Anyway Chris is meeting his court required obligations so the Judge also cleared Brown to travel outside the US. Women of the world, be ready to duck. Chris is on the lose. REVIEW: RIHANNA - RATED R

Hey, Rihanna. Mad much? Angry much? Dark much?Rihanna has a lot to live up to. Her last album, Good Girl Gone Bad, was a smash and a never ending hit parade: Umbrella, Rehab, Don't Stop the Music, Take a Bow, etc. etc. etc. Pretty amazy. Now, after a really hard few months and much unwanted tabloid attention due to her domestic abuse case against that douche bag, RiRi is back with the much darker, less club friendly Rated R. Starting off with a dark, scary sounding Mad House, a short introduction to the cd, we really get started with Wait Your Turn, a track that I featured the video for on here a while back. Sounding hard and using the F-bomb, Rihanna is clearly not focusing her attention on the tween crowd with this disc. This track is pretty good and has a nice chorus, but it has a midtempo beat that doesn't quite pull you in. The same can be said for Hard (ft. Jeezy), which sounds A LOT like Lil' Kim's Lighters Up with it's reggae-tinged sound. Stupid In Love softens things up a bit with a ballad, but the lyrics are still about an abusive relationship gone wrong, telling her lover not to "talk to me like I'm stupid". Wonder who that's about? This tune is a bit more like the Rihanna we know, hearkening back to Take a Bow and Unfaithful. Rockstar 101 is a guitar driven ride that features Slash from G-n-R to nice effect. Another posey, badass lyric with a midtempo beat. The pace is getting a bit draggy at this point, but the songs are still good. I need to dance a little though. Well, not yet because next is the very, very ominous Russian Roulette. This song is about as dark as you can get with lyrics about life ending and closing with the sound of a gun shot. We seem to really be seeing into her mind on this track. Fire Bomb slows us down again with a pretty, yet again dark, ballad comparing love to a car crash. Yikes! I'm starting to get depressed now. Rude Boy picks up the pace a bit. Sassy and sexy, Rihanna gives us a little breath of fresh air on this one, sexing a boy and getting aggressive with him asking him "can you get it up" and telling him to "take it, take it". So far, this is the closest to a party we've gotten, and I'll take it. Then BAM!! With the assistance of will.I.am, we go back to balladry. Photographs is a song about a past boyfriend who has betrayed her. Again pretty, again dark. Can someone get this razor out of my arm's reach? I am afraid of how it's looking at this point. G4L starts off with "I lick the gun when I'm done cuz I know that revenge is so sweet". This one is getting hardcore, complete with phrases like "gangsta for life" (get it? G4L?) and freely using the "n" word. A statement is being made here people!! It's hitting us over the head. This cd may kill you!! ON the upside, G4L is one other uptempo track, so you can dance, very angrily, to this one. Te Amo is a latin (duh) sounding track that really doesn't add to this disc at all as far as I'm concerned. Not dark enough to fit and not good enough to bring you anywhere else. Throw away. Cold Case Love...... ballad, dark, blah blah blah. Honestly at this point is doesn't matter so much how good the music is, you have to change things up a bit unless you are making a record that is SUPPOSED to depress you. This song IS good, by the way, but if you make it this far in one sitting, you will be wiped out. I am. The last song on the album, aptly titled The Last Song, is not going to lift your spirits. Trust me. Dark, moody, guitar and piano driven, the lyrics are about the last song you'll ever here. Way to cheer us up there at the end, RiRi!! Now, all this being said, there is some fine work here and a lot of great music, but when you have an entire album full of ominous chords and morose lyrics, it will take its toll on the listener. Taken one at a time, I think a lot of these songs have hit potential, but you should really only listen to the whole cd at once if you are mad at someone, or yourself, and you want to be angry for a while. Buy it, but don't put it on at a party.

RIHANNA LANDS IN THE TOP 10

Despite a bunch of babies belly-aching that it wasn't good enough, Rihanna's single Russian Roulette jumps up 75 to 9 on the Hot 100. This makes her 12th top 10 single on the Billboard chart. Rihanna was interviewed by Diane Sawyer this week on Good Morning America and 20/20, opening up for the first time about her volatile relationship with Chris Brown. Chris Brown, the Ike Turner of his generation, has taken to Twitter once again to use Rihanna's image to further his career. In several tweets early Monday morning, Chrissy posted a link to a youtube video montage of himself and Rihanna when they were together. PATHETIC!! He stated, “I’m sorry y’all. Just had to post it,” and then the douche said, “for the fellas: showing emotion doesn’t make u weak … being honest makes you strong.” And beating up your girlfriend makes you...what...owner of her image?
