THROWBACK THURSDAY: STACEY Q

In 1986 Stacey Q released one of the most infectious and recognizable hits of the 80s, Two of Hearts. The song is bright, bouncy and soooooo much fun. In short, it's the tits. Two of Hearts rose to #3 on the Billboard Hot 100 and was also a success in Australia where it reached #7 on the ARIA chart, #2 in Canada and #1 on the US Hot Dance Music/Maxi Singles Chart. This song was so popular that Stacey even landed a role on The Facts of Life playing Cinnamon, a singer Tootie was competing with to get a part in a Broadway show. (Because obviously if you wanted to be on Broadway you would sing a breathy pop song...duh!)  Watch that totally believable situation HERE. Anyway, I am STILL to this very day obsessed with this song and when it comes on my iPhone I always have to play it again at least once, and by once I mean thrice!! While Stacey Q had a couple of other hits (We Connect [#35] and Don't Make a Fool of Yourself [#66]) she never quite connected to the broad audience she reached with Two of Hearts. Doesn't matter. People still love this song today. I personally loved Stacey Q's album Better Than Heaven and listened to it until it fell apart. The girl's got spunk! In 2010 Stacey Q embraced her Facts of Life past and released a pretty good album of dance music called Color Me Cinnamon (reviewed HERE). See what she did there? JOAN RIVERS TO CHELSEA HANDLER: "DON'T YOU COME AFTER ME, YOU WHORE"

If I were Chelsea, I would listen. When it comes to a battle of the wits, few can compare with the Queen of Comedy herself, Joan Rivers. Apparently, Chelsea was on Howard Stern's Sirius radio show and had some not-so-nice things to say about our Joan. Apparently, Joan had done some stand up and commented on how Chelsea was treated so much better than her, not saying anything bad about Chelsea. Chelsea, having a lesser sense of humor, decided to take it the wrong way and go off on the legend. Well, Joan came on the next day and had some VERY serious words for Chelsea, including the quote in the title and about how she got her current job. Ha. Joan does not mince words. Team Joan 1,000% on this one. I don't think Chelsea is funny or clever AT ALL. She just says "bitch" a lot and spouts juvenile insults at people. Snore. Joan is a comedian of the highest degree and has been for decades. Don't mess with the best, Chelsea. Watch the video below to get the rundown on what went down.

JOAN RIVERS SAYS GAGA'S SHOCK FASHION CAN'T LAST FOREVER

Joan Rivers, the legendary comedian who somehow became a fashion maven along the way, has put a stop watch on Lady Gaga's ability to shock us with her wardrobe. She doesn't think she can keep it up much longer. Says Rivers, "Some of the stars have a very difficult time. Sarah Jessica Parker is always on trial now because she is such a fashionista. Poor Lady Gaga will have that now. She is amazing and fabulous but you know, sooner or later we'll be disappointed. She can't possibly keep raising the bar. Last time I saw her out, her dress looked like she had sneezed and it froze." Sounds like a challenge to me!! The thing is, it's sort of like Cher. Cher can get away with wearing anything she wants because she has balls the size of elephant. It doesn't matter what she or Gaga wear because they are going to work it and own it. "Before Lady Gaga we had Bjork and before Bjork we had Sir Elton John," Joan says to OK! magazine. "They are the smart ones, the ones who dress outrageously. They are the people you remember. Some people take it so seriously, and you're like, 'Oh come on, lighten up! It's only a stupid dress!" Pretty smart observation, Joan.
