AMAZING VIDEO: THE GAY RIGHTS MOVEMENT - 2nd CLASS CITIZENS

I am in tears from watching this video. So important and inspiring and sad. The history of the gay rights movement dates back as far as the 60s when so many social changes were occurring. We are still fighting to be equal to all other citizens. Not better, just equal. Watch this video and see how far we've come and how far we have to go to see real change. It is something that touches all of our lives, whether we know it or not, and until we are all equal, our country will continue to decline and be divided. Watch and learn and please pass it on. This video is part of a kickstarter program to produce a documentary about the gay rights movement called Second Class Citizens. If you would like to donate, please click HERE. Don't be on the wrong side of history.

ACTOR PLEADS INEQUALITY AND GETS OUT OF JURY DUTY

I'm all for any reason to get out of jury duty!! Recently in NYC Jonathan D. Lovitz, and actor/singer/model turned activist (who is extremely easy on the eyes) brought to the attention of those running the process at jury duty that he was not able to judge fellow citizens impartially because he was being denied his rights as a citizen of New York State. Jonathan wrote on facebook:
"Just had an intense day at jury duty. During voir dire we were asked who would not be impartial. I raised my hand and said 'since I can't get married or adopt a child in the state of New York, I can't possibly be an impartial judge of a citizen when I am considered a second class one in the eyes of this justice system.' You wouldn't believe how people in the room reacted."
BRAVO!! Jonathan was, of course, immediately dismissed from jury duty. I never even thought of this before, but it's so true. How can we in the gay community be called upon to fairly judge by a system that denies us our rights? We have to be brave enough to take stands like Jonathan did until we are treated as equals. You can help in your everyday life too. You can also join organizations, like the Human Rights Campaign, that are fighting every single day in NY for equality. Hooray for Jonathan!!!!

RACHEL MADDOW CALLS OUT HUCKABEE ON STUPID COMMENTS ABOUT GAY ADOPTION

Watch Rachel Maddow tear Huckabee apart on her show. I love Rachel. She is fair and smart and doesn't pull punches. Huckabee equated gay-marriage to drug addiction, incest and polygamy and warned gays wanting to adopt that "children are not puppies". What a f*cking moron. She calls him Mike "Puppies" Huckabee. I really hope that catches on. Watch below.

RICKY MARTIN POSTS LINK TO NAKED VIDEO

Before you get all excited, he does not show the full enchilada. The video, featuring a nude Ricky Martin with digital tattoos popping up all over his body, was actually made two years ago as the opening for a tour, but Ricky posted a link to it this week on his twitter, supposedly as a sign of strength and rebirth after his coming out of the closet. The tattoos say things in Spanish when translated mean, among other things, 'find yourself', 'forgive' and 'change your life.' All I care about is that we see A LOT of Ricky himself. Whew!!! Check it out below. [image]

WHOOPI GOLDBERG CONTINUES HER STUPIDITY TOUR, TRIED TO DEFEND HUCKABEE

Remember when she was just funny and talented? Well, Whoopi Goldberg is seriously disturbed these days. Recently Governor Mike Huckabee made some VERY ignorant, well documented statements to The College New Jersey's paper The Perspective about gays wanting to adopt. He compared same-sex marriage to incest and polygamy, then he said that gays who want to parent should remember that "children are not puppies". Really? Good to know. Well Whoopi, who has defended Roman Polanski and Jesse James in recent past, says she doubts that Huckabee said these things because he is a "smart guy". WHAT? Clearly not. Joy Behar and even Sherri Sheppard set Whoopi straight on Huckabee right then and there. Huckabee tried to discredit the college paper by the way, saying that the paper "attempt(ed) to sensationalize my well known and hardly unusual views of same-sex marriage.." The paper released the tapes of the Governor Huckabee interview and stated,"..his words speak for themselves, and it is a shame that he is now so quickly embarrassed of them." He didn't deny the statements he made, by the way. So suck it, Whoopi! Find someone decent to defend and quit making ignorant statements on a national talk show. Watch the video from The View below.
