MGMT are set to release their new album, Congratulations, on April 13th here in the US (a day earlier everywhere else), but it somehow got leaked online! The band, in response, wanted to just make it available for free download on their site but it seems the record company was not really keen on that idea (DUH! HA), so instead the group writes on their site, "Hey everybody, the album leaked, and we wanted you to be able to hear it from us. We wanted to offer it as a free download but that didn't make sense to anyone but us." Nice. The band's first record, the amazy Oracular Spectacular, came out in 2007 and made them indie stars and earned them a Grammy nod for Best New Artist. I for one am very excited to listen to the new material. You can stream the entire album for free HERE. [source]

BEYONCE AND TAYLOR SWIFT AMONG PERFORMERS AT GRAMMYS
Beyonce is performing at the Grammys? Really? She never performs at anything. NOT!!! Beyonce will perform at the opening of an envelope these days, so the announcement that she will be shaking her azz at the Grammys was not a shock. Nor is it surprising that her and Taylor Swift are nominated for every other award at the ceremony. Also making my eyes bleed during the broadcast will be the Black Eyed Peas. Ugh. How about some of the exciting performers like MGMT or Lady Gaga?? Let's get them on stage freakin' out!! Grammys? More like the GRANNIES! Bring on the disco sticks!!!

LADY GAGA IS NOT GOING TO BE BEST NEW ARTIST AT THE GRAMMY AWARDS THIS YEAR. BOO!!
Due to her being nominated for Best Dance Recording for Just Dance at LAST year's awards, Lady Gaga, the clear and only choice anyone would think of, is not eligible for Best New Artist THIS year. BOOOO!!!! I know it's only fair, but since she is the best, most exciting new act since Madonna made the scene (Madonna was not nominated either), I am guessing she'll be nominated for a few other awards. Like BEST THING EVER SINCE MADONNA. That's a category, right? Of all the names being batted around for Best New Artist so far, I am fully on board with MGMT, who I L-O-V-E. They rock.
