THE #1 SONG 30 YEARS AGO TODAY WAS.....
....Eye of the Tiger by Survivor. In 1982 Sylvester Stallone was prepping his upcoming movie Rocky III and needed a theme song. He could get the rights to Queen's Another One Bites the Dust, so he asked Survivor to write a song for the movie...and, boy, did they! Eye of the Tiger was the perfect song for the boxing film and the perfect fit with the fledgling MTV network. The song spent six weeks at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 in the summer of 1982 and became an instant classic. The band went on to have four more top 10 hits, but Eye of the Tiger remains their signature song. So here is the incredibly 80s video for the #1 song on this day in 1982, 30 years ago, Eye of the Tiger.

MADONNA FRIDAY: GIRL GONE WILD
WOOHOO!!! Wanna take a peek at some man-cheek? Here's your chance. Madonna's unedited, banned video Girl Gone Wild is raising some eyebrows. Why? Basically there's man-ass. Yes. We've all seen one, and yet MTV isn't playing the video because of it. Does MTV even play videos anymore? Oh. I guess it's okay to see orange, basketball shaped people having sexy with strangers, but heaven forbid we see someone's crack. Anyway, if you're not totally offended by what you and I both have below our backs, watch this video. It's one of the most glamorous vids Madonna's made since Vogue and it's sexy, sexy, sexy. Here is the excellent Girl Gone Wild. Have you bought MDNA yet? If not, do NOT talk to me until that task is accomplished.

MADONNA'S INTIMATE, ADD-ON SHOW BOOED BY UNGRATEFUL PARISIAN FANS
You try to do something nice for someone.... Madonna was met with boos and bottles at the end of her intimate show at the l'Olympia club in Paris. The singer added the gig, which was broadcast live on youtube yesterday, at the last minute in response to complaints from the French government of her use of an image of a swastika on the head of French party leader Marine Le Pen. In her 45 minute show attended by only members of her fan club Madonna spoke of tolerance and taking responsibility for your actions. Some fans complained about the length of the show and the price. One wrote on twitter, "280? for a seat + 10 minutes of a speech + 40 minutes of a show + 2 days of camping in front of the #Olympia = #Madonna #MDNA #Paris #thatsucks". Let's put this in perspective, shall we. Madonna added on a show to her already grueling tour schedule, offered it to only her most rabid fans, did special covers of famous french artists like Edit Piaf and Serge Gainsbourg and talked to her fans. GIVE ME A F*CKING BREAK!!! What did they expect, a two-hour extravaganza? This is what an intimate show is like!!! Instead of appreciating a superstar taking time from her few free moments, they throw bottles and call her a slut? NOT REAL FANS. It would have been pure bliss to me. Shame on you all for not bowing down to the Queen. Madonna, I can't wait to see you in September!!!! The show will be rebroadcast every hour, on the hour so head over HERE to watch.

TRAILER: OZ THE GREAT AND POWERFUL
OOOOOH! I can't wait to see this! James Franco takes on the iconic Wizard of Oz character in this prequel to The Wizard of Oz. This trailer is pretty awesome! Michelle Williams, Mila Kunis and Rachel Weisz join in what seems to be a pretty dark and dramatic tale of how the Wizard became the Wizard. Watch and marvel.
MADONNA FRIDAY: LOVE PROFUSION
A rarity to the casual Madonna fan, I of course know every word to the excellent single from her HIGHLY underrated American Life album, Love Profusion. Released as the fourth single on March 16, 2004, (December 8, 2003 overseas) Love Profusion was at the tail end of a backlash, mostly in America, against Madonna's American Life album. People had perceived the record to be too political, but in reality, if they had listened, they would see it was really about her life and relationships, and this is no exception. Lead by a guitar and a fine vocal performance, the song at any other time in Madge's career would have been a hit, but because of virtually no radio play it flopped in the US. In other countries it performed much better hitting #3 in Canada, #1 in Spain, and #11 in the UK and charting in many other territories as well. It did hit #1 on the US Hot Dance Club Play and #6 in Singles Sales (which shows what people are REALLY listening to, but I won't get into THAT right now). The song was used at the time of it's release in the US as an Estee Lauder ad as well and the US maxi-singles contained a perfume sample. The video was helmed by famed director Luc Besson and can only be described as a light, uplifting, gorgeous video that shows Madonna creating her own world of beauty as she walks away from strife. Watch and listen below and try to tell me this song isn't amazy. Enjoy Love Profusion.

THE AIKIU HAVE A VERY VINTAGE-PORN-LIKE NEW VIDEO. WATCH AND WHAT?
French pop band The Aikiu have a new video for their song Pieces of Gold that intercuts half the screen with gay porn and the other half with the band playing instruments. Just watch. That's all you need to know. Probably shouldn't watch at work.
STEVIE NICKS TALKS TO GAYLE KING & CBS THIS MORNING
Goddess and all around lovely person Stevie Nicks stopped by CBS This Morning & host Gayle King, taking a break from her amazing tour (which I saw in NYC last week) to talk about everything. Nicks talks about Fleetwood Mac and their sexing, her solo career, her current record and whether or not Fleetwood Mac is getting back together. Stevie is looking and sounding better than ever and if you get a chance to see her, GO! Watch.

NEW MUSIC & VIDEO: WONDER GIRLS FT. AKON - LIKE MONEY
South Korean girl group Wonder Girls have teamed up with Akon and they are NOT kidding around with this video and song for Like Money. Already a MAJOR force in Asian pop music markets, the Wonder Girls have also had a hit on the US Billboard Hot 100 with their single Nobody in 2009 when they opened for the Jonas Brothers on tour. No wonder Akon wants to get in on the ground floor with these ladies. Watch and love the pop perfection of Wonder Girls.

NEW GEORGE MICHAEL: WHITE LIGHT
Relased 30 years after his first UK chart entry with Wham!, George Michael has released an inspired dance track, White Light. Though he doesn't mention names, the song seems to be inspired by how George has dealt with and come back from his drug and alcohol abuse in the light of the death of Whitney Houston. That's my interpretation anyway. The song repeats "I'm alive" and boy, are we fans glad he is. George sounds great (of course) and the song is pretty stellar. Nicely done. Listen to White Light for yourself below and read along to the lyrics.
