Picture this: A young boy of 13 in a small Texas town eagerly awaits Madonna's new song. The day of it's release to radio, November 6, 1984, he pretends to be sick so he can stay home from school and record it EVERY time it comes on the radio. That homo was me, and that song was LIke a Virgin. True story. Of course the song (and the boy) go on to be super classics and remain a staple of Madonna's catalogue to the very day. It was the first of 12 #1 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 and stayed in the top spot for 6 consecutive weeks and the first of four Top 5 hits from the album of the same title.
