Madonna was working on a musical back around 2003 that never happened called Hello Suckers. Some of the songs that ended up on Hard Candy were from that project, such as 4 Minutes and The Devil Wouldn't Recognize You. The song If You Go Away, a pretty, simple ballad, was to be a part of that show. Actually a cover of a French song called No Me Quitte Pas, the song is about not wanting a lover to leave.
