The year was 1983 and music was awesome!!!! Cyndi Lauper was a multi-colored hair street urchin from New York who burst onto the music scene with this little gem, Girls Just Want To Have Fun. I was obssessed with her!!!! The song caused a sensation and is considered a classic in pop music. The song was originally written from a man's point of veiw, but Cyndi changed up the lyrics a bit and made it into an 80s feminist anthem. Brills!!! It reached #2 on the Hot 100 and the video was all over MTV like stink on sh*t. She has re-recorded it twice. The first time it was reworked into Hey Now, Girls Just Want To Have Fun for the movie To Wong Foo, and recently it was mixed with a song from her new album, Bring Ya to the Brink, Set Your Heart, for which I have attached the official video. It's good ya'll. Anyway, classic stuff here, so click on the links to enjoy all the videos and HERE is a super-cutesy megamix of all Cyndi's 80s hits.
