B-SIDES: EURYTHMICS COVER SOME CLASSICS

I am a life-long (almost) fan of Eurythmics. As an embryo (ahem, what?) I bought their album Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This) and I never quit loving those bitches. Some of their songs are among my faves of all time: Love Is A Stranger, Who's That Girl, Here Comes the Rain Again, Would I Lie to You?, There Must Be An Angel (Playing with My Heart), Missionary Man, Angel, I Need A Man, Thorn In My Side, Don't Ask Me Why, Peace....etc. Convinced? So today I want to share with you some Eurythmics songs that only some diehard fans would know about: B-sides!!!! Yes, songs that were not on albums but on the "b-side" of singles. See how that works? Sometimes I just feel the need to spell it out for you. These are covers that Annie and Dave did back in the day and I thought you might like to hear how Eurythmics interpret others' work. Well, what do you think? Here ya go.

A CAPPELA COVER OF ROBYN'S CALL YOUR GIRLFRIEND

Sweden is very proud of their Robyn. Three members from the Swedish vocal group Erato (no idea) sing Call Your Girlfriend by Robyn from her amazy Body Talk album and it's awesome! They even have fun cup-ography to go along with it. Good times. These girls are going somewhere! I don't know where, but somewhere. Maybe The Netherlands. Just watch and shut up.

FLASHBACK/HAPPY BIRTHDAY: KIM WILDE

Kim Wilde, two-hit wonder (in the US anyway), turns 49 today. Kim is best known for her hits Kids In America and You Keep Me Hangin' On. A dead-ringer for Kelly McGillis (tell me she's not!), Kim burst on the scene in the early 80s as a sexy, blond minx and took home the 1983 BRIT award for Best British female solo artist. Still making music today and touring around Europe, Kim divides her time between singing and her passion for gardening. Here's Kim with You Keep Me Hangin' On.
