GOLDEN GIRL RUE MCCLANAHAN RECOVERING FROM HEART SURGERY

We still have a friend in Rue McClanahan, who played Blanche Devereaux in the legendary sitcom The Golden Girls. Rue was admitted to the hospital for tests before having knee surgery when the doctors discovered a problem with her heart that required bypass surgery. Well, the surgery was a success and McClanahan is going to be fine. The only draw back is the Rue was due in San Fransisco for a tribute that was set for her at the Castro Theatre. Rue said in a statement, "Unfortunately, my doctor has laid down the law, and I'm currently in the hospital having some maintenance on the old ticker. Trust me, I'd much rather be in San Francisco having fun and being adored by all of you." Spoken like a true Southern Belle. [source]
