......Joyride by Roxette. Roxette are my second favorite Swedish pop act of all time, after ABBA, of course. TAKE THAT, ACE OF BASE!! Joyride was the first single from their third album of the same name and it established them as one of the biggest hit-making machines of the late 80s/early 90s. Joyride is a playful, upbeat song based partly on a note that band member Per Gessle received from his girlfriend that said, "Hello, you fool. I love you." Inspiration can come from anywhere, y'all! Joyride rode to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 on May 11, 1991 and stayed there for one week. It left skid marks on my heart though, so I am bringing it to you today, 23 years later.
